Senior Quantity Surveyor SF30327 Devonport, Plymouth Competitive Salary About the Role We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security. The Estates Department is responsible for providing safe, cost effective solutions to maintenance and new work to our customers, the MoD and the Babcock Company Asset owners for Devonport Royal Dockyard, under the Maritime Support Delivery Framework (MSDF) contract. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will manage a team of Assistant Quantity Surveyors providing "Firm Prices" and "Rough Order of Costs" for projects across both the Babcock and MoD owned Estates. You will review customer requests and formulate technical specifications, interfacing with senior management to provide a costed proposal. You will develop and maintain suitable integrated plans of key valuation activities and programmes and monitor progress on the team's technical estimations and performance against agreed delivery targets and KPI's. . What do I need do the role? You will be educated to Degree level in an Engineering or a construction related discipline, and hold or be working towards the Royal Institute Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) membership of a related professional institute. We would also like you to have some or all the following: • Significant experience of managing staff and Sub-Contractors in a Quantity Surveying / Construction field • Health & Safety Management of Sub-Contractors Lastly, you will need to be able to deploy effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and have the ability to interface capably with both internal and external stakeholders and customers.
