This role sits at the intersection of design governance, technical coordination, MEP engineering, and project delivery. You'll act as the client's owner's engineer - ensuring that designs, vendors, contractors, and fit-out packages all align with the required specifications, quality benchmarks, and delivery milestones. You will support projects from technical due diligence and preconstruction through construction, fit-out, commissioning, and close-out. Key Responsibilities Preconstruction / Due Diligence Lead and coordinate technical due diligence of colocation data halls and third-party sites. Support contractor pre-qualification, bid evaluation, and technical/commercial analysis. Assist with contract negotiation alongside SMEs, PMs, commercial teams, and legal. Coordinate engineering programmes including site audits, gap analysis, and compliance checks. Support constructability reviews across MEP and multidisciplinary design packages. Assist in identifying, scoping, procuring, and scheduling direct vendors and consultants. Design Interface & Coordination Act as the primary interface between MEP design consultants, contractors, internal engineering teams, and client stakeholders. Review technical documents, drawings, submittals, calculations, and design updates for accuracy, compliance, and integration across disciplines. Coordinate responses to RFIs, design clarifications, technical queries, and change requests. Ensure design intentions are maintained throughout delivery and that all interfaces (MEP, architectural, structural) are resolved proactively. Drive value engineering opportunities without compromising safety or resilience. Construction & Fit-Out Delivery Oversee change control, including tracking, negotiation, and impact assessments. Monitor project schedules, identify delays, and support recovery plans. Implement robust QA/QC processes, including site inspections, audits, and technical compliance checks. Track project documentation: drawings, bulletins, addenda, revisions, and updates. Ensure full HSE compliance, raising and escalating issues where required. Coordinate and manage direct vendors and specialist consultants throughout the delivery phase. Close-Out / Handover Support engineering teams with commissioning readiness, punch lists, system testing, and acceptance criteria. Oversee the collection and verification of as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, and closing documentation. Assist with authority inspections, occupancy processes, and client sign-off. Provide support for final issue resolution, commercial close-out, and lessons learned. About You You will ideally come from a MEP, design engineering, or technical project management background, with strong exposure to data centres or mission-critical infrastructure. Essential Skills & Experience Strong technical understanding of MEP systems, critical infrastructure, and design coordination. Ideally strong backgrounda in hands on detailed design. Experience in data centres, colocation, hyperscale, pharma, advanced manufacturing, or other M&E-driven environments. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and design packages. Experience interfacing between client, consultants, and contractors in a delivery role.
