Head of Strategic Asset Management and Estates - The Role: You will lead the strategic management of every commercial building, asset, and investment owned by the Council, ensuring they generate income, support services, or contribute to long-term financial stability. You will manage a team of Estates Surveyors and collaborate closely with colleagues, partners, and political leaders to deliver a portfolio that works hard for the organisation. This role demands commercial thinking to help the Council make informed decisions about which properties to retain, improve, repurpose, or dispose of. Strong experience in landlord and tenant matters, including valuation, negotiation and legal principles. Extensive knowledge of investment markets, data analysis, and market trends. Experience advising on acquisitions, disposals, marketing strategies and commercial appraisals. Experience in managing external consultants (agents and solicitors). Experience valuing a wide range of property types. Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial profiling. Good understanding of construction-related matters.
