About Capita
At Capita, we support clients across a range of sectors, including local Government, central Government, education, transport, health, life and pensions, insurance and other private sector organisations. We support with expertise applied by the talent across our business in combination with technology, insight and analytics to keep our clients ahead of change, sharper than competitors and more efficient than ever – and we always need new talent to help us achieve our goals.
About EDF Energy
We want to bring affordable, low-carbon energy to everyone and to do that requires both sharp minds and smart ideas to help shape the UK’s energy future. With the development of a new nuclear power station on the horizon, our goal is to become the best and most trusted energy supplier for our customers, through a combination of trust, transparency and teamwork.
The layout of nuclear powerplants comprises two major parts: The nuclear island and the conventional (turbine) island. The nuclear island is the heart of the nuclear powerplant. It is formed by containment building, auxiliary building, and fuel handling area. The layout of the nuclear island is specific for each nuclear powerplant design. The nuclear island houses the nuclear system that produces the steam (NSSS – Nuclear Steam Supply System) and safety systems.
NSSS consist of:
The reactor, containing the reactor core and the control systems.
The reactor coolant pumps (RCPs) ensure the circulation of the primary coolant.
The pressurizer (in the case of PWR) is used to control the pressure of the primary coolant.
The steam generators (in the case of PWR), where heat is exchanged between the primary circuit and the secondary circuit.
The primary piping.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
SeniorCommercial Managers’ accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
• The day to day management of Commercial Managers and/or Assistants under
their control.
• Ensuring all Principal Accountabilities for the contract commercial team are
implemented in accordance with HPC commercial procedures.
• Adopting the role of Intelligent Customer, ensuring that stakeholder expectations are met regarding commercial probity, value and that the supply chain is treated fairly and equitably.
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders across the project.
• Predominantly, commercial management of a suite of contracts during the execution phase (post-award), including change and claim management.
• Regular attendance at HPC Site leading the commercial management of on-Site activities.
• Providing support to the procurement process during the procurement phase
(pre-award), where applicable.
• Leading in the delivery of contract final account agreements, seeking to achieve equitable outcomes for all parties to facilitate early commercial close-out.
• Overseeing contract commercial relationships. Work with collaborative
behaviours in a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
• Consideration of the nuclear baseline and distribution of nuclear safety
significant responsibilities within the team; ensuring people are aware of the
needs of a strong nuclear safety culture.
• Professional development of self and people within the team.
• Responsibilities under the approved Supply Chain Policy managing contracts
and being a direct interface with the supply chain to ensure an embedded
nuclear safety culture: the right level of oversight, control and surveillance of contractor activities are set up in HPC and the supply chain
