Prepare competitive tenders within strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy. Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and specialist subcontractors. Evaluate project risks, exclusions and opportunities for value engineering. Attend pre-tender meetings, site visits and client meetings where required. Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and suppliers. Support business development by assisting with negotiated tenders and repeat business opportunities. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current fire safety regulations, industry guidance and product developments. Work closely with the operational team to ensure seamless transition from tender award through to project delivery. Candidate Requirements To be considered for this position you must possess: A minimum of 8 years' proven experience estimating within the passive fire protection/fire stopping industry. Demonstrable experience pricing a wide range of fire stopping works including penetration sealing, compartmentation, linear gap seals, fire batt systems, mastic, wraps, collars and associated passive fire protection products. Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Approved Document B and relevant British Standards relating to passive fire protection. Excellent understanding of construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation. Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify risks and opportunities during the tender process. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. Full UK Driving Licence (preferred). Desirable Experience FIRAS, BM TRADA or other third-party certification knowledge. Experience working with principal contractors, housing associations, local authorities and Tier 1 contractors. Understanding of digital take-off software and estimating platforms. Experience pricing projects ranging from small remedial works through to large multi-million-pound contracts.
