Senior Quantity Surveyor / Main Contractor / Residential / Commercial Overview We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for the successful running and delivery of a variety of projects, from Refurbishments, disabled adaptations, Block upgrades, new-build and the overall management of the projects including QS/Cost Control. Reporting to the Commercial / Finance Director, the role will require the successful candidate to oversee the commercial and contracts delivery of multiple projects. Key Responsibilities: * Manage multiple sites and ensure the work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality by effectively organising and managing the site activities * Carry out ‘toolbox talks’ in line with the work areas programme and maintain records * Ensure that adequate site records are maintained including but not limited to Site Managers reports, daily diary, weekly labour, plant, materials and goods returned, progress photographs, site inductions, and health and safety records * Able to demonstrate a good level of financial knowledge in meeting the business and customer objectives * Liaise with residents and client representatives * Managing of the Construction Programme and ensuring milestones are met in line with company and client targets. About You Candidates must have proven experience in the planned works sector, ideally within the social housing sector / local authority works although this is not essential; managing the development and performance of all aspects of contract operations including KPI’s & financial reports. Candidates will also have a strong track record of maintaining and building strong customer relationships and managing multi-site workforces. Key Skills and Qualifications * Experience managing a variety of projects from £250k-£5m * Previous Quantity Surveying/Contract Management experience within the refurbishment sector both internals and externals (experience of new builds is a benefit). * Proven track record in successfully managing a project * Literate and numerate with good IT Skills with a range of packages is essential including Microsoft Projects and excel * Self-motivated and ambitious * CSCS card * NVQ / Degree in Surveying (or other built environment) (preferred but not essential) * MCIOB or MRICS (or working to towards) (Preferred but not essential)
