SLH Consult are partnering our client a national subcontractor who are looking to appoint a freelance Patcher / Finisher to join a busy residential new build housing site in the West Midlands . Working closely with the site management team, you will play a critical role in clearing internal snagging lists to ensure all plots are completed to a flawless, premium standard prior to buyer handovers.nal eye for detail, take immense pride in your finish, and are ready for an immediate start, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Patching & Making Good : Execute high-standard internal patch plastering, boarding, skimming, and drywall repairs across active new build plots. Surface Preparation: Fill holes, cracks, and minor cosmetic imperfections on walls and ceilings, sanding them smooth ready for final decoration. Snagging Remedials: Systematically work through site management snag lists, making good around newly installed fixtures, fittings, electrical sockets, and pipework. Quality Control: Ensure all finished surfaces meet strict NHBC or developer hand-over standards. Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace while collaborating efficiently with other trades on-site. Requirements & Qualifications Experience: Proven track record working as a Patcher, Plasterer, or Multi-Trade Finisher within a fast-paced new build housing environment. Credentials: A valid CSCS Card is essential (Blue Skilled Card preferred). Tools: Must possess your own full set of professional hand tools, plastering stilts/steps, and standard PPE. Attributes: Exceptional eye for detail, strong reliability, and the ability to work independently to tight site deadlines. Legality: Full Right to Work in the UK. (remove if internal only)     Join our Repairs Team at L&Q: We are looking for an experienced Multi trade Plasterer to work within our Responsive Repairs covering our West region housing stock. The areas covered will include: Slough, Brent and Reading Our plasterers responsibilities will include carrying out a wide range of plastering maintenance repairs and Decorating.  Delivering quality workmanship within your specific trades and without close supervision. They must be a confident painter and decorator and ideally will be skilled in others trades to supplement their plastering, painting, and decorating skills. Our Plasterers carry out patch repairs and larger plastering repairs. We are looking for people with experience in plasterer boarding, bond set, finishing and rendering. You will be given an L&Q van for business use. It is essential to have a driving license to carry out this role and you must have your own hand tools (Power tools are provided). We will expect you to have effective communication skills, have experience of working in a building and/or housing maintenance environment including a knowledge of a varied housing stock.  Customer satisfaction is of the upmost importance to L&Q and as a first line of contact to our residents we expect you to have outstanding customer service and ability to deliver a right first-time service. Limiting follow ons and increasing satisfaction. Our in-house maintenance team core hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm in general.  Candidates must have a full manual drivers licence. This role focuses on resolving snagging lists and making good on internal walls and ceilings prior to house completions and buyer handovers. If you have an excellent eye for detail and take pride in delivering a smooth, high-quality finish, this is an ideal short-term opportunity. Role Responsibilities: Carrying out patch plastering, boarding, and drywall repairs across new build plots. Making good around recently installed fixtures, fittings, electrical sockets, and pipework. Filling, sanding, and preparing surfaces to ensure seamless transitions for decorators. Addressing internal snagging items efficiently to meet site handover deadlines. Keeping working areas clean, tidy, and organised to prevent damage to finished surfaces. What You Need: Valid CSCS Card (Essential). Proven experience in patch plastering, dry lining repair, or multi-trade finishing on residential sites. Own hand tools, plastering kit, and full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, steel toe cap boots). Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently. Reliable, punctual, and easy to commute to sites around the Hull area.
