Project values range from £2,000 to £50 million (M&E value) - typically between £1 and 2 million. They have a number of regular 'contract' outworkers so usually deal with overspill using these trusted contacts, however, due to a former director retiring at the end of May they are very much in need of a permanently employed Mechanical Design Engineer to supplement their team as they look to grow the business following the internal management buyout completed mid 2016.
Following this MBO, the company has ventured into provided MEP design services into the commercial, leisure and residential sectors. The successful candidate will need to be capable of performing a client facing role and managing a small multi-disciplinary team.
This will include :
Monitoring project costs
Maintaining project deliverables
Coordination with external (architectural, structural, PQS, CDM, etc.) and internal (CAD, Revit, electrical, public health) disciplines.

My client have secured a major new build student accommodation project in Colchester, Essex.
This is a flagship £100m scheme in East Anglia, providing over 1000 units across 5 blocks.
They are looking to appoint a Building Services Managerto be based on site.
The position will report directly to the Project Director and company wide Head of Building Services.
The primary remit of the role is managing the MEP packages on the project which total in excess of £25m.
You will have responsibility for managing the full install from start on site through handover.
You will be part of a collaborative team, liaising with construction and design colleagues.
Candidates will need to have relevant experience as a Building Services Manager or Senior M&E Manager with a main contractor or major subcontractor on sizeable projects of a similar scope and scale.
Candidates with both mechanical and electrical experience will be ideal, however a mechanical bias will also suit, as there is a strong electrical manager within the team who will report to you.
A degree or similar qualification if preferred as are candidates who are working towards chartered status.
