Intermediate Mechanical Project Engineer Location: UK (Office & Site Based) Sector: Mechanical Building Services / M&E Experience: Minimum 3 Years Salary: 35,000 - 55,000 (DOE) + Travel + CIBSE Membership + Pension Overview I am working with a well-established and growing building services contractor who are looking to appoint an Intermediate Mechanical Project Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical building services across a range of projects. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with at least 3 years' experience within M&E or building services. You will be actively involved in project delivery, working between office and site to ensure mechanical works are coordinated, delivered and completed to a high standard. Key Responsibilities Support mechanical project delivery from pre-construction through to completion Assist with coordination drawings, technical submittals and project documentation Review mechanical design information for buildability and compliance Manage technical queries (RFIs) and liaise with consultants and subcontractors Monitor site installation progress and ensure works align with specifications Assist with procurement, cost tracking and reporting Support commissioning activities and system handover Ensure health & safety and quality standards are maintained Skills & Experience Required Minimum 3 years' experience within mechanical building services or M&E contracting Degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services preferred Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plant and pipework installations Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Good understanding of site coordination and project processes Strong organisational and communication skills Ambition to progress within a structured engineering environment Package & Benefits 35,000 - 55,000 basic salary (DOE) Travel expenses covered CIBSE membership paid Pension scheme Structured progression and long-term development opportunities

This pivotal role involves overseeing and inspecting building services installations (Mechanical, Electrical, and Fabric) on our projects to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and design specifications. You will act as the department's eyes and ears on site, ensuring quality is built into every aspect of the projects under our responsibility. Key Responsibilities Conduct rigorous inspections of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire systems, and structural fabric to ensure full compliance with statutory regulations and design briefs. Proactively identify and document non-conformances. Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure swift and effective resolution of all site issues. Maintain high-standard site records, including daily logs and photographic evidence. Deliver comprehensive progress reports to the management team. Confirm that all materials and equipment used meet specified standards and are installed according to industry best practices. Act as the primary technical link between contractors, designers, and Technical Services. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all Safety Files, O&M manuals, and commissioning reports.
