£42,500 up to £46,871 inclusive salary per year + £3,000 market supplement + car allowance + Local Government Pension Scheme Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week) Flexible working options (including hybrid) Job Ref: P2496 About the role In this post you will be responsible for the implementation, management, and delivery of all electrical, fire detection, door entry, lifts, CCTV and digital TV installation utilising the Council's supply chain partners. This includes repair, maintenance, and major projects of existing and new installations to Council housing stock. About you You will be responsible for managing a range of electrical works and projects from inception through to completion, working on your own initiative with minimal supervision. Duties will include budget management, the preparation of specifications and drawings, procurement and contract administration, and the management of electrical programmes of work relating to the Council's housing stock.Ideally, you will hold a degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline. Alternatively, you will have substantial relevant experience in a similar Mechanical and Electrical role, supported by an HNC/HND in Building Surveying, Construction, or a relevant electrical qualification. You will possess detailed knowledge of building defects and associated remedial solutions, together with experience of delivering property-related projects.A sound working knowledge of housing-related legislation, regulations and best practice relating to repairs, maintenance and capital improvements is essential. This includes an understanding of CDM Regulations, Building Regulations and other relevant compliance requirements.St Albans is a unique English Cathedral City with a colourful history which can be seen in the Roman remains and variety of beautiful architecture, heritage sites and conservation areas.
