Permanent Full Time 40 Hours We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, ambitious Trainee Site Manager to join our team within Lovell s North West region working in Pendleton, Salford. Reporting to the Site Manager, the Trainee Site Manager will carry out a variety of site management tasks, ensuring the site is kept tidy and presented to the public in a clean, tidy manner. An extensive training programme will be offered as well as on the job development to help you with key aspects of the role such as: Understanding the programme requirements of the site, whilst assisting the Site Manager in its implementation. Liaising with NHBC, Building Control, Highways and Water Authority Inspectors to ensure technical compliance and programme. Health, safety, and environmental matters will be a key part of your responsibilities including assisting with all statutory forms and procedures. Communicating effectively with our supply chain, other Lovell departments, and our clients and customers. Quality control and compliance with our document management system. Your new company You will be joining a public sector organisation focused on environmental management, forestry services, and maintaining tree safety across public spaces. Your new role You will work as a Tree Inspector, carrying out regular tree inspections across highways and other sites, identifying risks, and producing technical reports to support remedial actions. You will liaise with landowners, update tree records and databases, issue work instructions to contractors, and assist with monitoring tree health issues such as ash dieback. The role also involves supporting emergency response, handling public enquiries, and contributing to wider forestry and arboricultural services. What you'll need to succeed Level 3 Forestry/Arboriculture qualification (or equivalent experience) Experience in tree inspections and assessing tree health, defects, and safety risks Knowledge of tree biology, pathogens, and modern arboricultural practices Understanding of relevant legislation, British Standards, and health & safety Ability to produce clear, detailed reports and technical documentation Good IT skills and experience using databases/GIS systems Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines Full driving licence and willingness to travel and work flexibly What you'll get in return You will gain valuable hands-on experience in tree inspection and environmental management, working on diverse sites and contributing to public safety and sustainability.
