Candidates highly sought after are those ideally from an M&E / Mechanical & Electrical Services / Building Services background, HOWEVER we will consider talented and proven Quantity Surveyors from more of a construction background, capable of learning the M&E sector quickly, they are certainly equally called for to apply. You may already have had a progressive career to date OR you may be fairly early into it, with at least a minimum of two years and looking to build on your experience further; your application is still welcome and will be seriously considered. You will track both internal and external costs on each job from handover right through to final account sign off. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be experienced in reviewing multiple levels of Contract documentation and have a strong understanding of tender information and tender bills of quantities (BOQ's) You will prepare cost plans in line with commercial SOP's and report on cost plans highlighting any potential issues they may have. Candidates sought will have experiene of procuring major suppliers and sub-contractor packages and prepare monthly interim valuations and variations to their clients. Naturally you will be very thorough with your administration and prepare contract documents to sub-contractors and issuing all main Contract Documents / Collateral Warranties up the line for review. Auditing sub-contractors for payment and any valuations as expected, is part of the role, as well as uploading any variations to their dedicated ERP system. You will be confident and knowledgeable as a QS whilst in the search for continuous perfection and implemeting any further educated methods. Electrical Project Engineer City of London 6 Month Contract 1st Step Solutions are supporting a leading M&E Contractor who have an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join their team on a commercial project in Central London. Responsibilities: - Attend & host team meetings. - Lead and issue meeting notes for technical and progress workshop meetings. - Reviewing tender information including design drawings, specifications and equipment schedules. - Delivering the design / working drawings necessary to deliver the project and ensure you capture any additional costs and programme delays caused by external influences on their production. - Production and technical compliance checking of technical submissions against specifications and ER documents. - Production of package scoping documents. - Reviewing and compliance checking our working drawings against specifications and ER documents. - Being able to develop a commissioning strategy for the installation. - Management of procurement. Value engineering (where asked for) and better buying against the tender allowances. - Programming of the works and sub-contract packages. - Production and management of programmes. - Project reporting to PM. - Manage installation and commissioning activities of your assigned packages. - Handover documentation (record drawings / test and commission). - Ensure all variation costs are advised to the PM and QS. - Cost control.
