Experience in construction activities involving cranes: load lifting activities (by means of a crane) and other crane operations. Experience involving lattice boom crawler cranes is highly appreciated. This experience must be able to be proved.
Accredited use in mobile equipment (e.g.: loaders, excavators, rising platforms, etc.) is highly appreciated.

My client is an established Civil Engineering Company.
They have been awarded a £12m package of works on a Major Highways project in Hampshire and require an experienced General Foreman or Works Manager to oversee the delivery of the works which comprises earthworks, drainage and kerbing etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizing daily activities, work shifts, etc. Capacity of coordination between the different activities performed by the employees and subcontractor
Ensuring work is carried out to the highest of quality standards.
Coordinate with the Project / Contracts Manager, Site team and Sub contractors
Ordering and control of materials on site
Complete all necessary documentation and paperwork as required daily and properly including but not limited to: Time sheets, Pre-Task Planning Sheets, daily journal/diary, weekly safety report, receiving reports, change/time off, work order, etc.
Monitor the progress of your work against the planned production goals.
Must be a good communicator, motivator, and team player
SPECIFIC SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a Safety Coordinator
Act as temporary work supervisor
Must always work self and crew 100% safely leading by example.
Deliver regular tool box talk briefings to the site team covering appropriate Health, Safety and Environmental issues and ensure records of these briefings are maintained.
Ensure daily and weekly plant checks are carried out and all records are up to date.
Monitor sub contract works and ensure subcontract works are being delivered in line with the relevant RAMS
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Leadership on working crews (workers, subcontractors, rented equipment, etc.). Previous experience is required.
Experience in organizing activities, work shifts, etc where required. Capacity of coordination between the different activities performed by the employees.
Knowledge in preparing daily progress reports and daily production reports. Capacity to schedule downtime periods due to routine maintenance. Capacity to provide estimates of production outputs.
Ability to take responsibility to train new workers and teach them how to handle properly pieces of equipment that are available to them.
Capacity of dealing with subcontractors, inspectors, technical assistance and with the client.
Experience in earthworks activities; especially in activities related with major earthworks, the construction of embankments and rock embankments (in highways, roads, landfills, etc.).
Knowledge in quarry materials and its specifications (quality, size, shape, etc.), and criteria in order to accept/refuse these materials.
Experience in construction activities involving cranes: load lifting activities (by means of a crane) and other crane operations. Experience involving lattice boom crawler cranes is highly appreciated. This experience must be able to be proved.
Accredited use in mobile equipment (e.g.: loaders, excavators, rising platforms, etc.) is highly appreciated.
Must have 10+ years of experience as a Foreman on heavy civil projects such as major highways, earthworks and heavy drainage.

- Ensure that company policies for temporary works and safety are complied with and are applied within the section and that works are structurally safe

- Check weekly that resources are available to meet the programme, in liaison with the Project Manager
- Measure and record weekly the permanent work completed for valuation purposes
- Ensure that additional works and/or variations are notified for inclusion in the monthly valuations and provide comprehensive records
- Measure the work of sub-contractors weekly, control, measure and record work extra to the sub-contracts
- Supervise or execute the routine control of materials, both in quality and quantity
- Supervise or execute the cost system processes relating to input of resources
- Keep a full and accurate daily site diary
- Ensure that proper records are kept and carefully filed
The Individual / Knowledge and Skills required:
As a Sub Agent you will have extensive experience in working on civil engineering projects in a similar role.
Qualifications:
- Ideally HNC/HND/Degree in a civil engineering discipline
- CITB ? 5 Day SMSTS Certificate
- CSCS Supervisors/Managers Card
- Must be a team player but also able to work on own initiative
- Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Sub Agent to a join a major Infrastructure JV. This is a freelance role and applicants will have previous experience of working on RC structures and/or Roads and Earthworks contracts in excess of £5million.
Responsibilities:
- Management and Supervision of Site Engineers and Foreman and subordinates on site.
- Maintain good working relationship with employers key staff
- Ensure that specification, drawings, contract and sub-contract documents contain sufficient, accurate information of construction of the works to proceed in accordance with the programme and sequence of operations
- Ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before work is programmed to commence

Applicants must be willing to get stuck in on the sites they work at and from time to time may be asked to act as Setting out Engineer, Site Manager, Foreman etc when required.
If successful, your duties will include:
• Planning and programming of the works
• Monitoring and implementing the financial controls and cost reports
• Management and monitoring of Sub Agents, Section Engineers and the works team
• Management of plant , materials and subcontractors
• Overseeing and coordinating traffic management plans
• Liaise and chair client/project meetings
• Oversee daily administration, quality, audits, permits and records
• Oversee the setting out and as well as the as-builts
• Implementation of company procedures and protocols
• Compilation of Method statements and risk assessments
• Interpreting and implementing of the design
• Health and Safety compliance
