You will ensure the management of Contracting Services for Housing Plus Group is delivered in line with operation needs and provides Value for Money. You will be joining an ECA and ELECSA approved, award-winning contractor, which is responsible for ensuring compliance across the Group. Job purpose: To ensure the management of Contracting Services for Housing Plus Group id delivered in line with operation needs and provides Value for Money ('VFM') Main accountabilities: List in order of priority, the major activities, or functions necessary to achieve the job's end results. Precontract Stage - specific responsibilities required to undertake during that period. Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies. Run cost analyses of the various types of work as a forerunner to tender preparation. Select, price and source Construction Materials and Services Advise clients on procurement strategies. Factor in the implications of health and safety regulations. Identify commercial risks and help develop suitable responses. Pre & Post Contract Stage responsibilities will expand into getting work started and then keeping it on track. Prepare the tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, with the architect and the client. Select subcontractors, agree the scope of services and allocate work. Monitor and control costs throughout the project. Identify risks surrounding the project and the likelihood of cost variation. Track any changes to the design or actual work and adjust budget projections. Value completed work and arrange payments to subcontractors. Analyse progress and write detailed reports. Liaise between Senior Managers, Project Managers, and the Client/Landlord Representatives Project Close responsibilities will involve reviewing the project and helping to fully hand over management of the site to your client. Prepare summary reports for the client and other relevant stakeholders. Run cost analyses for ongoing repair and maintenance work. Advise on any outstanding contractual claims remaining.Financial responsibility: Responsible for the procurement of all goods and services individual contracts to the value of £6m with responsibility for a procurement portfolio of £16m per annum Health and Safety: To be aware of the H&S risks in the work area and when out on site and follow the H&S Policy and Procedures laid down by the Group. In order for Managers to achieve our Health & Safety aims and objectives you will be conversant with the Current Health And Safety Policy on the Intranet in particular the Statement of Intent and section 5 of the Policy "Health & Safety Responsibilities". Our client are a leading major contractor, who have a great reputation within the market and future order book. Their workload is varied, across both the public and private sectors and build projects between £10m-£70 in project value. Their company culture is inclusive, collaborative and fun. Training & development is taken seriously, which is a reason why our client retain their staff and are an employer of choice. As the lead Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be required to initially work on a live PCSA from their head offices, based in Hertfordshire and successfully deliver a £50 new build residential scheme based onsite in West London.
