Responsibilities and Your Mission
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for leading all cost aspects of the project, providing support and advice to the team to aid decision making, maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with the contractual requirements.
You'll prepare estimates and costs of the work and when the project is in progress, you'll keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability.
The Quantity Surveyor will monitor contract progress against the agreed programmes, control costs against agreed budgets/end cost forecasts, prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts, prepare and agree any necessary claims for reimbursements and for loss and expense and will liaise the contractors, consultants and third parties on all cost matters.
Your scope of work will be including but not limited to:
Assist in establishing the employer's requirements and undertake feasibility studies to ensure their proposals will work
Prepare cost plans and estimations in the different phases of the design for budgets
Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour, etc
Participate preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
Negotiate contracts' cost side
Check the budget keeping, prepare cash-flow and forecasting of the construction payments
Perform cost risk, value management and cost control during construction
Production and presentation of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation on projects
Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
Advise on a procurement strategy
Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks of cost issues
Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes
Value completed work, oversee bills
Prepare periodic reports on its work

Previous experience in a similar role within residential housebuilding and development.

If so, we are working with a leading Manufacturer of highly sustainable and design led FLOORING SOLUTIONS who are seeking to recruit a SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER to join their already well-established team due to an internal promotion with responsibility for promoting their products and services in the SOUTH WEST | SOUTH WALES region.
The Role
To promote our Client’s high quality, market leading range of Sustainable Floor Covering solutions, mainly via Architects, Interior Designers, Fit Out/D&B Contractors and End Users into the Commercial Office, Health, Education and Hospitality & Leisure sectors by raising awareness, generating sales and over exceeding agreed targets and customised KPI’s whilst working closely with other members of the team both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, gain buy-in to, and implement an area specific business development plan in order to proactively identify and target agreed growth and development opportunities.
* Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers at all levels of the customer hierarchy, in order to provide support and develop awareness of the benefits and uniqueness of Interface’s products, services and offers/campaigns, and identify the decision makers.
* Develop and implement plans and actions for identifying or reactivating customers and setting up new accounts
* Identify, monitor, report and record all sales opportunities so that they may be converted into sales, to maintain and improve market share.
* Collaborate with colleagues with integrity on projects which are interconnected across territory lines, support each other and communicate proactively to ensure Interface is in the best position to win business.
* Sell and influence the sale of all products and services within pricing guidelines and monitor sales levels to ensure business mix whilst ensuring billings targets are reached or exceeded.
* Identify market and competitor information and feed it back to the business in order to ensure market requirements and competitor developments are incorporated into marketing and NPD plans.
* Understand customer requirements for sustainability in order to spot opportunities for the sale of sustainable products and services and engage customers with our mission zero.
* Complete administration on time so that accurate analysis reports can be prepared for use in measurement of progress and forward planning.

You will be responsible for providing the business with Cost Management for assigned developments from Land Procurement to the completion of Sub Contract Final Accounts and Statuary Authority Adoption Certificates, and also:
•Package procurement based on robust and thorough processes including;
•General Contract Administration tasks including;
•Cost/ change control and monitoring
•Cost reporting
•Measurement, estimating, cost exercises and benchmarking
•Working with the company’s bespoke Contract
•Reviewing and assessing contractor competency
•Assisting with monthly cost, project reporting and associated documentation
Candidate Requirements:
•Must have a minimum of roughly 5 years Quantity Surveying experience
•A minimum of HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying
•Must have worked for a Residential Developer or Main Contractor for at least 3 years
•Must have residential build experience
