Due to continued business growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join their Manchester-based team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale infrastructure and capital investment projects, providing programme planning expertise that supports successful project delivery. You'll play a key role in developing robust project schedules, monitoring performance and working closely with clients and delivery teams to ensure projects remain on track. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain and update detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 and, where appropriate, Microsoft Project . Identify potential delays, programme risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies to support successful delivery. Prepare accurate programme reports, schedule updates and management dashboards for project teams and clients. Review contractor programmes and contribute to programme assurance, governance and wider project controls activities. Work collaboratively with project managers, contractors, consultants and clients throughout the project lifecycle. Promote best practice in planning and scheduling, helping to improve consistency and programme management processes. Provide guidance and mentoring to junior planners, supporting their professional development and the wider planning function. Essential Skills & Experience Demonstrable experience in project planning within construction, infrastructure, utilities or major capital projects. Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 , with experience using Microsoft Project being advantageous. Excellent scheduling, programme analysis and reporting capabilities. Good understanding of project controls, programme governance and planning methodologies. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships. A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to influence project outcomes and support successful delivery. Desirable Experience Previous experience delivering infrastructure, energy, utilities, regeneration or public sector projects. Knowledge of NEC contracts and programme assurance processes. Membership of, or progression towards, a recognised professional body such as APM, AACE, ICE or equivalent. You will take projects from post-feasibility through governance approvals, mobilisation, delivery, handover and closure, owning programme controls, reporting and stakeholder management across a varied portfolio. This is a delivery-focused role requiring strong governance, commercial awareness and the ability to coordinate finance, procurement, legal and technical stakeholders, ensuring projects stay on track for time, cost and outcomes.
