Job Description: Industrial Recruitment Services Ltd (IRS) are currently recruiting for an experienced Bench Joiner to join our client based in the Netherton / Cradley Heath area . Our client is a well-established UK commercial furniture manufacturer and interior fit-out company, producing high-quality commercial furniture and bespoke interior joinery. We are seeking an experienced Bench Joiner or Cabinet Maker who is confident working from technical drawings and can manufacture high-quality products to precise specifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out, cutting, shaping and assembling timber and panel components using a range of hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years' hands-on Bench Joinery or Cabinet Making experience and be able to read and accurately interpret technical drawings. The Role: Manufacturing high-quality commercial furniture and bespoke joinery Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and schematics Setting out, cutting, shaping and assembling components Working with timber, panel products and other joinery materials Using hand tools, power tools and factory joinery machinery Working accurately to measurements and specifications Preparing materials for finishing processes Laminating, staining and preparing products for painting where required Working alongside other joiners, foremen, designers and project teams Ensuring projects are completed to the required quality standards and deadlines Carrying out manual handling and lifting when required Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 39-hour working week Paid breaks Overtime available and paid at time-and-a-third The Person: Minimum 2 years' proven experience as a Bench Joiner or Cabinet Maker Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings Experience manufacturing commercial furniture or bespoke interior joinery advantageous Confident using hand tools, power tools and factory joinery machinery Able to cut, shape and assemble components accurately Excellent attention to detail Able to work to precise measurements and produce high-quality workmanship Knowledge of different timber types and panel products advantageous Experience with laminating, staining and other finishing preparation beneficial Physically capable of manual work and safe lifting Good understanding of workshop health and safety Reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team Good communication and organisational skills Formal qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Bench Joinery, Furniture Making or Wood Machining would be advantageous; however, relevant practical experience will be given equal consideration where candidates can demonstrate the required skills and standards.
