Job Description: Industrial Recruitment Services Ltd (IRS) are currently recruiting for an experienced Bench Joiner to join our client based in the Netherton / Cradley Heath area . Our client is a well-established UK commercial furniture manufacturer and interior fit-out company, producing high-quality commercial furniture and bespoke interior joinery. We are seeking an experienced Bench Joiner or Cabinet Maker who is confident working from technical drawings and can manufacture high-quality products to precise specifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out, cutting, shaping and assembling timber and panel components using a range of hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years' hands-on Bench Joinery or Cabinet Making experience and be able to read and accurately interpret technical drawings. The Role: Manufacturing high-quality commercial furniture and bespoke joinery Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and schematics Setting out, cutting, shaping and assembling components Working with timber, panel products and other joinery materials Using hand tools, power tools and factory joinery machinery Working accurately to measurements and specifications Preparing materials for finishing processes Laminating, staining and preparing products for painting where required Working alongside other joiners, foremen, designers and project teams Ensuring projects are completed to the required quality standards and deadlines Carrying out manual handling and lifting when required Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 39-hour working week Paid breaks Overtime available and paid at time-and-a-third The Person: Minimum 2 years' proven experience as a Bench Joiner or Cabinet Maker Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings Experience manufacturing commercial furniture or bespoke interior joinery advantageous Confident using hand tools, power tools and factory joinery machinery Able to cut, shape and assemble components accurately Excellent attention to detail Able to work to precise measurements and produce high-quality workmanship Knowledge of different timber types and panel products advantageous Experience with laminating, staining and other finishing preparation beneficial Physically capable of manual work and safe lifting Good understanding of workshop health and safety Reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team Good communication and organisational skills Formal qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Bench Joinery, Furniture Making or Wood Machining would be advantageous; however, relevant practical experience will be given equal consideration where candidates can demonstrate the required skills and standards. Must be located within commutable distance Time served (minimum 3 years) or NVQ in bench joinery or equivalent. Experience in modern woodworking machinery and hand tools. Experience in reading drawings, templates & written instructions. Products are all bespoke and range from sliding sash windows, casement windows, doors, screens and architectural mouldings. Ability to work to tight deadlines. Ability to use problem-solving and critical thinking skills. To be able to work independently or as part of a team. We are a well-established specialist joinery manufacturer looking for an experienced joiner to join our workshop team in Monikie. You'll work on a varied range of bespoke kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and commercial shopfitting projects, manufacturing and assembling high-quality pieces from drawings and specifications. This is primarily a workshop-based role, with occasional installation work when required. You'll be joining a friendly, skilled team where quality matters and people are trusted to get on with their work. The workshop offers a varied workload, interesting bespoke projects and the opportunity to work on quality pieces rather than repetitive mass-produced products. Your work will include: Manufacturing and assembling bespoke kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms and other joinery Working from technical drawings, plans and specifications Using workshop machinery and hand tools Ensuring finished products are accurate and completed to a high standard Occasionally assisting with fitting and installation work Working with the wider workshop team to meet production deadlines Keeping your work area clean and safe What we're looking for We're particularly interested in hearing from experienced: Workshop joiners Bench joiners Cabinet makers Bespoke furniture or kitchen manufacturers You will need: Previous experience producing bespoke joinery, cabinetry or similar products Experience assembling and building high-quality units The ability to work accurately from drawings Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship The ability to work independently as well as part of a team A full UK driving licence Experience using CNC machinery, beam saws or edge banders would be useful, although training can be provided. Previous fitting or installation experience would also be an advantage.
