Building Surveyor - Void Refurbishment £50-55K + Mileage 3 Month FTC Starts 16 March 2026 Your new company We are working in partnership with a leading consultancy delivering a national refurbishment programme. This project focuses on conducting void refurbishment surveys across South Wales, covering key sites including Brecon, Haverfordwest and St Athan. This is an excellent opportunity to work within the defence estate, supporting essential improvement works across residential properties. Your new role As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for completing structured condition surveys on service family accommodation and military housing. Your responsibilities will include: - Conducting void refurbishment surveys using a standardised template - Assessing the lifecycle of building elements (roofs, windows, doors, fabric) - Carrying out borescope inspections (training provided if required) - Reviewing EPC recommendations and assessing the feasibility of improvement works - Producing accurate survey notes to support refurbishment specifications - Managing access, keys, and on-site coordination across multiple locations - Completing approximately 2-3 surveys per day, subject to property size and travel This role is field-based across the South Wales region with occasional remote reporting. The initial contract is 3 months, with potential for extension depending on future project workload (Likely to extend). Our Commercial Team, supporting the successful United Utilities account, is looking for a motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join us. You ll play a key role in delivering commercial and contractual duties, supporting operational teams and ensuring full compliance with Avove s values and processes. Your focus will be on maximising contractual entitlement and ensuring the commercial success of each project. This is a full time, Fixed-Term for 12 months covering maternity leave with hybrid working split between home and our Warrington office. What will your day look like Support the Commercial Team to ensure full compliance with Avove systems, processes and procedures. Work to strict deadlines required under the contract and by Avove. Monitor and report on the financial performance of assigned contracts. Assist in establishing suitable construction contracts aligned with procurement needs. Prepare accurate financial statements for allocated contracts. Administer contract requirements, including variations and changes to the works. Maintain contemporary records to support claims, extensions of time and variation evaluations. Manage subcontractors, including payments, applications and final accounts. Ensure prompt submission of invoices and applications for payment. Support Business Development with information for PQQs and tenders. About you HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying (degree or RICS progression desirable but not essential). A clean UK driving licence. Experience working within a delivery team with multiple priorities. Strong background in commercial management. Experience managing NEC3 or NEC4 contracts, including target cost, fixed price and cost reimbursable mechanisms. The role will mainly be site based in Coventry city centre and the were will be occasional trips to head office based in Cheshire. With a huge pipeline filled with some of the largest bespoke building envelope projects it’s a great opportunity to gain valuable experience as the role is likely to exceed the 9-12 month FTC for the right candidate.
