Key Responsibilities and Duties Provide the client with a first-class customer service.
Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity and provide feedback to Directors in conjunction with the Contract Manager / Senior Management review contract details relevant to the company's ability to deliver under the contract.
Carry out material take offs and send out enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers for each tender for works packages required from the tender documentation, drawings and specifications.
Evaluate returned quotations from suppliers and, where necessary, enter into correspondence with suppliers to bring quotations in line with the project specification requirements
Make site visits to tender location as necessary to establish site logistics Identify tender deliverables required such as programmes, tender method statements, cash flow forecasts etc and allocate to relevant staff accordingly.
These may include but are not limited to: - oContract Programme (Microsoft Project) oLabour Histograms oOutline Methodology Statements oMethod Statements / Temporary Works Proposals oTraffic Management Proposals oCash Flow forecasts Occasional BQ take-offs / compile Activity Schedules for "drawing and specification" tender opportunities
Price up all rates from basic principles broken down on a labour, plant, materials and subcontract basis Price up all preliminary items for each tender in advance of finalisation with the Directors Identify tender opportunities such as value engineering, recycling and compressing contract programme. If tender is for 'design and construct' schemes, arrange meetings with suitable Designers and finalise the overall responsibility, extent of design and fee proposal.
Also negotiate "no win / no fee" format for tender stage design requirements.
