My client has an immediate opportunity for a Non-licensed Asbestos Removal Operative to join their team on an interim basis. Thes successful applicant will undertake removal of non-licensed asbestos and asbestos containing materials, in line with task sheets, and in accordance with relevant regulations and guidance including the HSE's "asbestos essentials" guidance. Responsibilities: Removal of and encapsulation of non-licensed Asbestos and where appropriate the reinstatement of appropriate materials. This can include but is not limited to: Floor tile removal and screeding, removal of sheds, garages, and outbuildings, (including roofing), removal and reinstate loft insulation, removal of fireplaces, removal of toilets / cisterns and the removal of kitchen storage units. Where required, undertake re-inspections including the sampling of materials and the review of existing management surveys. Assist in void clearance and capital work streams, such as water hygiene management. Apply correct signage to work areas as required using the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Symbols) Regulations 1996 and associated Guidance, HSE Guidance document L64. Contribute to improvements in void delivery and overall performance by liaising with contractors and operatives. Contribute to capital works projects that relate to housing improvements, achieving efficiency and assisting other Engineers such as Plumbing, Heating and Electrical to achieve these. Work closely with tenants to ensure they understand the tasks that are being undertaken, explaining technical details in simple terms. Comply with The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR) and associated Approved Code of Practice L143 Managing and working with asbestos. Management of Health and safety at Work Regulations 1999, Construction Design Management Regulations 2015. Complete compliance records accurately, for example, Waste Transfer notes Requirements: Hold a non-licensed (Cat B) asbestos removal certificate BOSH P402 Surveying and Sampling certification, or be prepared to train to obtain it Asbestos awareness experience and training To apply, please attach a copy of your CV

The role
The purpose of this role is to carry out day to day repairs and maintenance to our client’s housing stock. There will also be a necessity to be available for the out of hours cover on a rota system.
It has the following main responsibilities;
Ensuring the satisfaction of the customer by having a right first-time approach to all jobs
Carrying out work as per the Risk Assessments and Method Statements issued by Silcoa
Ensuring the working environment is compliant with all Health & Safety matters
Coordinating with other operatives and subcontractors on site and working with a team player approach.
Following work instructions efficiently and carry out works required as detailed in the instruction
What they need
For this role you’ll need to have the following skills and experience;
An Asbestos awareness certificate (CAT A) and the asbestos removal course (CAT B).
Experience of the removal and reinstatement of ceilings/walls containing ACM’s (asbestos containing materials).
Experience of decoration works following reinstatement of ceilings/walls.
Experience of working in social housing and of working in occupied homes.
In-date training in manual handling, working at height, abrasive wheels and PASMA.
Basic electrical knowledge.
An asbestos Medical certificate.
Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe practices.
