We are currently working with an international consultancy and construction company that has delivered world class projects since 1990. The opportunity The senior building surveyor required to support in the delivery and management of an expanding team in the Birmingham region. You should be experienced in providing both professional and project delivery building surveying services working across a good breadth of sectors. Our service offering tends to focus on national programmes of work involving significant size and scale. The offering includes: * Programmes of survey instructions that include condition, dilapidations, investment due diligence and defect surveys. * Programmes of refurbishment and maintenance project delivery or management and contract administration commissions. * Specialist services to include party wall and bank/fund monitoring. Due to a healthy portfolio of existing clients, combined with a significant increase in newly secured work, the team based out of Birmingham has decided to increase its headcount. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, experienced building surveying team that has no glass ceiling and can provide you with a solid platform to develop your career at the pace you want it to. Your responsibilities will include: * Preparing feasibility studies and recommendations. * Providing effective stakeholder engagement and briefing. * Scoping, estimating, and presenting reports. * Undertaking surveys, design, and specification services. * Respecting and delivering services in accordance with best practice (and all legislation) in relation to asbestos, health, and safety etc. * Managing a timely and effective post contract administration and final account agreement. * Taking personal responsibility for service delivery. * Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages. * Working with associate directors and directors to construct bids for new work. * Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the sense internal database. About you You have a degree in building surveying or equivalent and a member of the relevant institute such as RICS would be beneficial. You have knowledge and competency in building surveying. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. The Role: Reporting to the Regional Director you will be responsible attending scope-of-works site visits with the client; producing quotations for survey and air monitoring projects in addition to undertaking Management, Refurbishment and Demolition asbestos surveys (as defined in HSG264) undertake air monitoring and 4-stage clearances (as defined in HSG248) record all site data and compile inspection & monitoring reports using paper records and/or electronic data capture report findings through verbal and written communications carry out re-inspections update asbestos registers and asbestos management plans, ensuring that inspection works are carried out in accordance with documented procedures and complying with the quality system. The role may require out-of-hours (evenings, nights, and weekends) work depending on project specific operational needs. You will be managing projects to include allocating resources and financial management (setup, invoicing). About You Essential: P402, P403 and P404 qualified with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a larger team Asbestos surveying experience, capable of undertaking the duties of a lead asbestos surveyor within a UKAS accredited surveying organisation Strong asbestos air monitoring and 4-stage clearance experience and be capable of undertaking the duties of a clearance analyst within a UKAS accredited surveying organisation Excellent verbal and written communication skills as this will be a client-facing position A proven track record in delivering survey projects on time and on budget Team player able to support junior team members IT literate Full clean UK driving license Desirable: Degree qualified S301 Asbestos and Other Fibres or W504 Assessment and Control of Asbestos P406 Supervision and Management of the Safe Removal and Disposal of Asbestos, including P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings Project management experience of complex remediation schemes PAL/IPAF Category 1b, 3a & 3b and PASMA mobile tower access This position offers the opportunity to be involved in international as well as regional projects and travel will be an essential part of the position
