Senior Project Manager - Utilities and Energy We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex utilities and energy infrastructure across major UK development and infrastructure programmes. This is a high-impact role for a delivery-focused project professional who can manage stakeholders, challenge programmes, coordinate contractors and drive projects safely from construction through to commissioning and handover. You will work as part of an integrated team combining project management, commercial management, technical advisory and regulatory expertise across electricity, water, wastewater, gas, telecoms, heat networks and emerging utility infrastructure. Role overview As Senior Project Manager, you will act as the client's representative, taking ownership of utility delivery across complex programmes. Strong electricity infrastructure experience, particularly 11kV-132kV and above, would be highly advantageous. Key responsibilities Manage multi-utility infrastructure projects through construction, commissioning and handover. Lead delivery across major developments including data centres, industrial, logistics, manufacturing and mixed-use schemes. Coordinate clients, contractors, statutory undertakers, DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, local authorities and other stakeholders. Drive programme performance, project governance, reporting, risk management and change control. Review contractor programmes, identify critical path risks and develop mitigation actions. Support commercial monitoring, PMO reporting, executive dashboards and project controls. Maintain strong client relationships and escalate delivery risks early. Candidate profile You will bring strong experience in the planning, procurement and delivery of multi-utility infrastructure, with particular strength in electricity networks, substations, transmission and distribution, contestable and non-contestable works, and regulated utility environments. You should be confident coordinating utility providers, contractors, design teams and senior stakeholders, with strong programme management, governance, reporting, risk, change control and project controls experience. Essential experience Extensive experience delivering utility infrastructure projects. Strong HV or EHV electricity infrastructure experience. Experience managing contractors through construction and commissioning. Excellent programme management, PMO and project controls capability. Strong stakeholder management and reporting skills. Commercial awareness and experience managing multiple projects. Desirable knowledge NEC, JCT or FIDIC contracts. CDM Regulations, NRSWA, Highways Act and utility permitting. DNO/IDNO processes, National Grid delivery, street works coordination, commissioning and energisation. Site Supervisor (Electrical) 33kV Substations Location: North Scotland (SSE Locations) Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 + Company Van & Fuel Card Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: Immediate Are you a Site Supervisor who enjoys being out on site rather than stuck in an office? We're looking for an experienced Electrical Site Supervisor to join a growing team delivering work across a long-term 33kV SSE private networks framework. This isn't a static role. You'll typically spend around three months on each project before moving to the next site, so you'll need to be comfortable travelling throughout Scotland. In return, you'll join a business with a strong pipeline of work, excellent job security and the opportunity to work on major HV infrastructure projects. The Role As Site Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of electrical works on substation projects, ensuring work is completed to programme, to specification and in line with all health & safety requirements. Your responsibilities will include: Supervising site teams and subcontractors Coordinating day-to-day site activities Ensuring works are carried out safely and to the required quality standards Conducting site briefings and maintaining health & safety compliance Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers and client representatives Supporting the successful delivery of 11kV and 33kV substation projects What We're Looking For You'll ideally have experience supervising electrical works within the power or utilities sector and be confident managing teams on live infrastructure projects. You'll have: Previous experience as a Site Supervisor Electrical experience within 11kV or 33kV substations Experience working on SSE or SPEN projects is highly desirable SSSTS qualification (essential) Full UK Driving Licence Willingness to travel and work on projects across Scotland Already hold an SSE CAT3 Authorisation? This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the safe delivery of projects from construction through to final adoption, acting as the Principal Contractor under CDM 2015 . You'll play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to the highest quality standards while coordinating multiple stakeholders across complex infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities As the CDM Site Manager, you will be responsible for: Managing the safe delivery of HV electrical infrastructure and EV charging projects from construction through to completion and final adoption. Ensuring full compliance with CDM 2015, Electrical Safety Rules, Construction Phase Plans (CPP), RAMS, permits to work, and NERS requirements. Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within programme. Coordinating testing, commissioning, inspections, technical handover, and adoption documentation. Building strong working relationships with clients, DNOs, highways authorities, landowners, and other key stakeholders. Promoting a strong health and safety culture across all project activities. About You We're looking for a proactive Site Manager with a proven track record of delivering HV electrical infrastructure projects. Essential Experience Previous experience as a Site Manager delivering HV electrical infrastructure projects. Experience delivering NERS-accredited projects through to adoption. Strong knowledge of 11kV and 33kV distribution networks. Experience managing HV cable installation, substations, earthing systems, and commissioning activities. Experience delivering LV infrastructure and/or EV charging projects. Strong understanding of civil engineering and groundworks. Experience acting under CDM 2015 as Principal Contractor. Knowledge of Electrical Safety Rules and permit-controlled HV environments. Experience managing subcontractors, site teams, programmes, and stakeholder relationships. Excellent understanding of health & safety, quality assurance, and compliance.
