  • Manage high-value packages with high-volume change, maintaining rigorous change control and accurate forecasting
  • Scrutinise and validate cost submissions from consultants and subcontractors against budgets and commercial targets
  • Maintain and update EWN and risk registers; quantify risk exposure and support mitigation strategies
  • Ensure disallowed costs are identified and prevented through auditable, accurate record-keeping

Commercial Leadership

  • Influence design teams, project managers, consultants, and subcontractors to embed commercial discipline
  • Present commercial positions confidently to senior stakeholders
  • Assess commercial and project risks associated with change and programme movement
  • Coach and develop commercial team members

Programme & Technical Oversight

  • Review programmes and understand how schedule movement impacts cost, risk, and contractual entitlement
  • Support design oversight in design, design-and-build, and package management scenarios
  • Identify commercial impacts of design early and mitigate design risk

About You

Essential Experience

  • Proven track record in commercial management on major ( 100m+) infrastructure or construction projects
  • Demonstrable experience administering NEC contracts
  • Strong track record managing high-value packages with robust change control and forecasting
  • Experience in cost administration for consultants and subcontractors
  • Formal qualification in RICS, CIOB, or similar with relevant commercial experience

Technical Competencies

  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial management across all aspects
  • Familiarity with various forms of contract and integrated reporting
  • Proficiency with commercial IT systems and project control tools
  • Ideally: experience with design, design-and-build, and package management
  • Behavioural Competencies
  • Strategic thinker who balances detail with the bigger picture
  • Confident communicator able to influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong team leader with mentoring and coaching capability
  • Ability to hold your own and defend commercial positions persuasively
