Construction Manager
Cappagh is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join a Thames Water framework project based in Erith.
This Construction Manager position will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of civil engineering and water infrastructure works, ensuring site activities are completed safely, efficiently and in line with programme, quality and client requirements.
The ideal Construction Manager will come from a strong civils background and have previous experience delivering water infrastructure projects. Clean-water experience would be highly desirable, although candidates with strong water-treatment or utilities experience will also be considered.
What the Construction Manager Will Be Responsible For
As Construction Manager, you will oversee the daily delivery of site works including excavation, trenching, pipeline installation, drainage, backfilling and reinstatement.
You will coordinate site teams, subcontractors, engineers and specialist suppliers while ensuring works remain on programme and meet the required quality standards.
The Construction Manager will also be responsible for reviewing and implementing RAMS, permits, quality documentation and site records, as well as identifying and resolving construction or operational issues as they arise.
You will work closely with Cappagh, Thames Water and other project stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact on site and ensuring subcontractors perform safely, efficiently and in accordance with the agreed scope.
Construction Manager Requirements
We are looking for a Construction Manager with significant experience working within civil engineering, ideally with 10+ years of construction experience.
Previous experience delivering water infrastructure projects is essential. Experience within clean water, water treatment, utilities, pipeline installation or pipe-laying would be particularly advantageous.
Candidates should also have strong experience managing groundworks, excavation and associated civils, alongside proven experience leading subcontractors and site teams.
A successful Construction Manager will be confident dealing directly with clients, process-driven, organised and capable of maintaining high standards across programme, quality, documentation and health and safety.
Essential requirements include:
Strong civil engineering background
Previous water infrastructure experience
Valid CSCS card
Strong site leadership and subcontractor management experience
Good employment stability and demonstrable project delivery experience
About the Construction Manager Role
This is an immediate 3 6 month Construction Manager contract offering £400 £450 per day CIS.
The role would suit an experienced Construction Manager, Senior Site Manager, Site Manager or Works Manager who has delivered major civils and water infrastructure projects and is comfortable taking full ownership of site delivery.
