Permanent Full Time 40 Hours We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, ambitious Trainee Site Manager to join our team within Lovell s North West region working in Pendleton, Salford. Reporting to the Site Manager, the Trainee Site Manager will carry out a variety of site management tasks, ensuring the site is kept tidy and presented to the public in a clean, tidy manner. An extensive training programme will be offered as well as on the job development to help you with key aspects of the role such as: Understanding the programme requirements of the site, whilst assisting the Site Manager in its implementation. Liaising with NHBC, Building Control, Highways and Water Authority Inspectors to ensure technical compliance and programme. Health, safety, and environmental matters will be a key part of your responsibilities including assisting with all statutory forms and procedures. Communicating effectively with our supply chain, other Lovell departments, and our clients and customers. Quality control and compliance with our document management system. We're looking for an experienced Civils Quality Inspector / Clerk of Works to join the delivery team on a major infrastructure project. This is a hands-on quality role within a fast-paced, self-delivery environment. The Role You'll provide independent inspection and assurance of civil engineering and reinforced concrete works, including: Inspection of reinforcement, formwork and concrete works prior to pours Monitoring construction against drawings, specifications and Works Information Completing and signing off ITPs, ITRs and inspection records Witnessing hold points and coordinating inspections Identifying defects, snags and non-conforming works Monitoring corrective actions through to close-out Checking embedded items, cast-ins and dimensional requirements Maintaining accurate photographic and quality records Liaising with Engineers, Supervisors, Quality and Construction teams Supporting final inspections and handover documentation You'll Need Strong civil engineering / highways / reinforced concrete construction experience Previous Quality Inspector, Highways Clerk of Works, Engineer or Supervisor experience Excellent understanding of construction drawings and specifications Strong knowledge of QA, ITP and inspection processes Confidence challenging workmanship where standards aren't being achieved Project working hours are 11 per day across a 11 day on 3 day off rotation and competitive overtime rates for weekend working at x1.5 Saturday and x2 Sunday payable on your hourly rate.

Working closely with site teams, engineers, and project managers, you'll play a key role in maintaining quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle. This is for 12 months FTC. Key Responsibilities Carry out site inspections to ensure works comply with project specifications, drawings, and industry standards. Complete quality checks and inspections across civil engineering and construction activities. Review and maintain Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), quality records, and supporting documentation. Monitor workmanship standards and identify any non-conformances. Support quality audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Verify that materials, equipment, and installations meet required project standards. Work collaboratively with site management, engineering, and subcontractor teams. Assist in the preparation of handover and completion documentation. Promote a positive quality culture throughout the project. About You Previous experience as a Quality Inspector, QA/QC Inspector, Quality Advisor, or similar within construction, utilities, rail, highways, or civil engineering. Good understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes within construction projects. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills. Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across project teams. Must be able to pass SC clearance Desirable Experience working on major infrastructure projects. Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. CSCS Card.
