Salary: £22 per hour plus van & fuel
Hours: Monday - Friday 8-5

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our busy Social Housing Repairs & Maintenance team.

You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality carpentry repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties. You will work directly in residents homes, so a professional attitude, good communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service are essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Carpenter looking for secure, long-term employment within the social housing sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out responsive repairs, planned maintenance and void property works.
  • Complete a wide range of carpentry and joinery repairs, including:
  • Doors, frames and locks
  • Skirting boards and architraves
  • Flooring and floorboards
  • Kitchens and units
  • Repairs to timber structures and fixtures
  • General carpentry and joinery works
  • Assess defects and determine the appropriate repair or replacement.
  • Work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Complete repairs within agreed timescales and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Provide a professional and respectful service to residents.
  • Maintain accurate records, job sheets and materials information.
  • Work safely and comply with all relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Liaise with supervisors, residents, colleagues and other trades as required.
  • Keep tools, equipment and vehicles clean, secure and well maintained.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter within property maintenance, social housing or a similar environment.
  • A recognised carpentry/joinery qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Strong practical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience carrying out responsive repairs in occupied properties.
  • A good understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • The ability to work independently and manage a daily workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A professional, reliable and flexible approach to work.
  • A full UK driving licence.

A DBS check and relevant employment/background checks will be required for this position.
