An established ventilation services contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Fire Damper / Air Hygiene Engineer to join its growing engineering team covering London and the surrounding areas. The role will involve a mix of fire damper testing, remedial works, kitchen extract cleaning and ventilation hygiene, working predominantly in two-man teams across a varied commercial client base. Candidates do not need to be experienced across every area, provided they have a strong background in either fire dampers or air hygiene and are willing to develop across the wider role. Requirements Experience within fire damper testing, air hygiene, TR19 cleaning or ventilation maintenance Fire damper remedial experience highly desirable, including damper replacement, ductwork alterations/replacement and actuator replacement Knowledge of BESA TR19 standards preferred Kitchen extract or ventilation cleaning experience advantageous Practical mechanical ability and confidence working with ductwork and ventilation systems Computer literate and comfortable completing reports Full UK Driving Licence BESA-accredited training advantageous Strong work ethic and willingness to work across both fire damper and cleaning disciplines Package 30,000 - 45,000 depending on experience 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday Saturday overtime paid at 1.5x Sunday overtime paid at 2x Additional payments for night work Company van available for Lead Engineers Tools provided Workplace pension Additional discretionary bonuses Occasional voluntary stay-away work available Interested in hearing more? Fire Damper Engineer Up to 40,000 + Van + Fuel Card + Package A leading Building Services contractor is seeking an experienced Fire Damper Engineer to join their team, working across commercial buildings throughout London and surrounding areas. This is a great opportunity to work with a reputable and well-established business, carrying out fire damper inspection, testing, maintenance and remedial works across a range of commercial sites. The Role: As a Fire Damper Engineer, you will be responsible for: Carrying out inspection and testing of fire and smoke dampers. Completing planned and reactive fire damper maintenance. Identifying faults, defects and non-compliant fire dampers. Carrying out remedial works, repairs and replacement of defective dampers. Cleaning, lubricating and ensuring fire dampers are operating correctly. Checking access panels and ensuring dampers are accessible for inspection and maintenance. Completing detailed inspection reports and recording test results accurately. Taking photographs and documenting any defects or remedial requirements. Liaising professionally with clients, site teams and building management. Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with relevant British Standards, legislation and manufacturer guidelines. Requirements: Must have a clear Enhanced DBS check Strong knowledge of fire and smoke dampers, inspection and testing. Experience carrying out remedial and maintenance works. Good understanding of ventilation and HVAC systems. Knowledge of relevant British Standards and fire safety requirements. Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Full UK driving licence. Relevant fire damper qualifications are preferred but not essential.
