Key Responsibilities • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of new-build construction projects • Manage projects from pre-construction and mobilisation through to completion and handover • Lead and coordinate the site-based project delivery team • Manage Site Managers, Engineers, Design Managers, Building Services Managers and other project personnel • Work closely with the commercial team to maintain strong financial and contractual control • Develop and manage the construction programme alongside the Project Planner • Monitor progress against programme and implement corrective measures where required • Manage subcontractors and ensure packages are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme • Coordinate design, procurement and construction activities • Chair project, progress and subcontractor meetings • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and key project stakeholders • Identify and manage project risks and opportunities • Ensure quality standards and specifications are maintained throughout construction • Ensure compliance with company health & safety procedures and statutory requirements • Monitor project resources and ensure appropriate labour, plant and materials are available • Manage project reporting and provide regular progress updates to senior management • Oversee commissioning, snagging, practical completion and final handover • Ensure project documentation, O&M information and handover requirements are completed correctly Candidate Requirements • Proven experience as a Project Manager within a main contracting environment • Tier 1 or major main contractor experience strongly preferred • Demonstrable experience delivering significant new-build construction projects • Strong commercial and contractual awareness • Excellent understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and programming • Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and subcontractors • Strong knowledge of health & safety, quality and construction compliance • Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills • Confident dealing directly with clients, consultants and senior stakeholders • Ability to take full ownership of project delivery and drive performance across the project team • Relevant construction qualification preferred • SMSTS • CSCS • First Aid qualification preferred The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Tier 1 main contractor with a strong pipeline of new-build projects. This is a fast-paced role supporting planned maintenance, repairs, compliance, and refurbishment programmes across occupied properties. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating operatives, managing appointments, and ensuring works are delivered efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Responsibilities Planning and scheduling daily workloads for operatives and subcontractors. Managing diaries to maximise productivity and minimise travel time. Allocating responsive repairs, planned works, and maintenance appointments. Monitoring job progress and rescheduling works where required. Liaising with tenants, clients, site teams, and contractors to coordinate appointments. Ensuring all works are completed within agreed service level agreements (SLAs) and KPIs. Updating internal systems with accurate job information and appointment details. Tracking outstanding works and ensuring follow-on appointments are arranged promptly. Producing reports on productivity, work volumes, and performance. Requirements Proven experience as a Planner/Scheduler, ideally within social housing or domestic maintenance.
