The Project: A water treatment works near Christchurch is undergoing a major 85m upgrade. This involves implementing advanced modular ceramic membrane technology and ozone dosing to provide a cleaner, more efficient, and reliable drinking water supply for the region. The upgrade uses a Design for Modular Assembly (DfMA) approach, with 70 modular units being fabricated and tested off-site before being delivered to the site for installation. The modular approach is expected to deliver the project at twice the speed of traditional methods. The Role: Report directly to the Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager and your role will be to manage the design, construction, commissioning and putting to work of contracts. Ensure they are completed in the most efficient manner to the specification, within the time required and within the tender estimate without risk to the health and safety of all concerned while ensuring good customer satisfaction Responsibilities: Promote exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to direct and subcontracted work force. Ensuring that the BMS is implemented at all stages throughout the project delivery process, i.e from tender handover to final completion. Maintain good client relationships at all levels. Ensure good relationships are maintained with joint venture partners and suppliers. Ensure sufficient trained personnel are available for the project. Planning projects, including reviewing and approving the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and then monitoring and controlling the delivery of projects. Ensure that appropriately detailed construction plans and method statements are prepared, in place and approved prior to commencement of activities. Ensure at contract completion that all records referred to in the PEP are complete and available. Ensure that all site non-conformities are reported and approximate costs identified. Ensure all commercial aspects of the project are managed in a timely and proactive way giving accurate forecast and estimates. Have detailed working knowledge and experience of project management practices from scheme conception through to end user acceptance. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Works Manager to join a growing specialist contractor operating within the construction, infrastructure and utilities sectors. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in pump hire, dewatering or temporary water management who is looking to take ownership of a busy pump division. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the pump depot, supporting projects across the UK and providing technical expertise for temporary pumping and water management solutions. Alongside operational responsibilities, you will play an important role in supporting business development, pricing works and ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient and commercially successful pumping solutions.
