Senior Architect

Location: Sheffield

Salary: 40-48,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Architect to join a well-established and design-led architectural practice in Sheffield. With a strong portfolio spanning education, healthcare, industrial, civic and workplace projects, the practice is recognised for combining thoughtful design with robust technical delivery. The successful candidate will take a leading role in delivering complex projects, managing teams and coordinating with clients, consultants and contractors throughout the design and construction process. Working within a supportive and collaborative studio, this position offers the opportunity to take ownership of significant schemes, contribute to the continued growth of the practice and mentor less experienced team members.

The Role

  • Take overall responsibility for the delivery of architectural projects across all RIBA work stages, from initial feasibility and concept through to completion
  • Lead projects typically ranging in value from 3m- 10m
  • Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, consultants and external stakeholders
  • Develop and oversee detailed design, technical information and construction documentation
  • Lead client presentations, design reviews, site meetings and project coordination sessions
  • Manage project programmes, budgets and quality standards to ensure successful delivery
  • Provide technical and design leadership throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders
  • Support and mentor junior members of the architectural team
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the practice, its design standards and project delivery processes

The Ideal Candidate

  • ARB-registered Architect with several years of post-Part 3 experience
  • Strong experience leading projects independently from feasibility through to completion
  • Proven experience delivering projects within the education, healthcare or industrial/manufacturing sectors
  • Demonstrable experience managing projects in the region of 3m- 10m in value
  • Excellent technical knowledge and a strong understanding of current UK Building Regulations and construction standards
  • Confident coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing project information
  • Revit experience is desirable
  • Strong client-facing, communication and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, programmes and project requirements
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the confidence to take ownership and make informed project decisions
  • Passionate about delivering well-designed, technically sound architecture and contributing positively to a design-led practice
