About the Role
We are working with a leading organisation within the housing sector who are looking to appoint a Property Services Compliance Officer to join their Property Services and Compliance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced compliance professional to support the delivery of statutory compliance across a diverse property portfolio. Working closely with the Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in monitoring compliance programmes, managing contractor performance, maintaining accurate compliance data, and ensuring all statutory obligations are met.
The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of housing compliance requirements, experience managing servicing and maintenance regimes, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Compliance Manager with the effective day-to-day operation of the Property Compliance function.
- Monitor and manage statutory compliance programmes across areas including:
- Gas Safety
- Electrical Safety
- Fire Safety
- Asbestos Management
- Legionella and Water Hygiene
- Lifts and other safety-critical assets
- Ensure compliance records, certification, and asset information are accurately maintained across relevant systems.
- Produce compliance reports, monitor KPIs, and support the identification and management of remedial actions.
- Carry out quality assurance checks, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance standards are achieved.
- Review contractor documentation, certificates, and reports to ensure works meet required legislative and quality standards.
- Support contractor performance management, including attending meetings, reviewing service delivery, and monitoring agreed standards.
- Assist with procurement, specifications, quotations, and project management of compliance-related remedial works.
- Support budget monitoring, invoice checking, and financial reporting for compliance activities.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding compliance requirements.
- Respond to customer enquiries, complaints, and service-related queries professionally and efficiently.
- Contribute towards continuous improvement of compliance processes, policies, and procedures.
About You
You will have experience working within a property compliance, asset management, or housing services environment, with a strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements.
You will have:
- Experience managing and monitoring compliance servicing and maintenance programmes.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and its practical application within property services.
- Experience reviewing compliance certification and ensuring audit readiness.
- Experience supervising contractors and monitoring quality standards.
- Knowledge of property maintenance, building defects, surveying, specifications, quotations, and project delivery.
- Experience producing reports, monitoring KPIs, and analysing compliance data.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with contractors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Good IT skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel.
Desirable Experience
- NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working within social housing or a regulated housing environment.
- Experience supporting compliance improvement programmes or implementing new processes.
