About the Role As their new Steel Detailer, you will be joining an experienced technical design team with a focus on the detailing and modelling of lightweight, cold-rolled steel framing systems for residential, commercial, and modular construction projects. You will take architectural concepts and engineer them into precise, production-ready panel layouts and framing assemblies. You will work closely with structural engineers, load-bearing system manufacturers, and site installation teams to ensure seamless project delivery. Key Responsibilities Generate highly accurate 3D models of light gauge steel frames, load-bearing walls, floors, and roof cassettes. Produce detailed panel drawings, assembly layouts, and precise data files (CAM/NC) for automated roll-forming production lines. Detail specific LSF components, including track systems, studs, lintels, holding-down details, and bracing. Run comprehensive clash detection checks against architectural plans, hot-rolled steel structures, and MEP services. Proactively raise and resolve technical queries (RFIs) with clients, architects, and structural engineers. What We Are Looking For Experience with detailing light gauge steel framing (SFS or LSF) systems within the UK construction sector. Strong experience with LSF-specific 3D design software (such as Tekla Structures, Vertex BD, Revit, or Autodesk Advance Steel). Deep understanding of cold-rolled steel design, manufacturing tolerances, thermal detailing, and drylining interfaces.
