This role is strictly for below ground and foundation level formwork, including pile caps, ground beams, bases, retaining walls, and kickers. This is NOT a decking or slab deck role. Applicants looking for suspended slab or deck carpentry work need not apply. Key Responsibilities: Erect, align, and strike shuttering for in-situ manholes, Cubis chambers, ground beams, foundations, and retaining walls Interpret groundworks and civils drawings accurately Ensure formwork is structurally sound, level, and dimensionally correct ahead of pours Work closely with the groundworks gang, steel fixers, and site engineers Maintain a safe and tidy work area in line with site health and safety procedures Carry out quality checks prior to concrete pours Requirements: Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter on groundworks or civils packages, such as industrial, EfW, or power projects Valid CSCS Card (Skilled Worker or Craft card minimum) NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery, or NVQ in Groundworks or Civil Engineering (or equivalent trade qualification) CITB Health and Safety Test pass (if card renewal required) Working at Height and Manual Handling certification desirable Own hand tools required Ability to read and interpret groundworks or civils drawings Strong understanding of site health and safety practices Desirable: Previous experience on EfW, waste to energy, or large scale industrial/civils groundworks First Aid at Work certificate CPCS certification
