£500 - £600 p/shift (PAYE Umbrella) VolkerStevin Devonport Docks, Plymouth An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, SC-cleared Senior Planner to get involved with work down on Devonport Docks, and the framework long-term. This is an excellent opportunity to support the delivery of major civil engineering works within a complex, highly regulated environment. Experienced Planners ready to progress into a senior role may also be considered. The Role Reporting to the Planning Manager and Project Lead, you will produce and maintain robust project programmes while working closely with the delivery team, client and supply chain. Key responsibilities: Producing and maintaining tender and contract programmes Identifying programme scope, constraints and contractual requirements Developing construction sequences and methodologies Completing monthly updates, reports and programme submissions Leading collaborative planning sessions Monitoring progress, productivity and time-related risks Updating design and procurement schedules Managing change programmes and supporting programme recovery Identifying risks, opportunities and value-engineering alternatives Maintaining accurate as-built and performance data About You Current SC clearance Strong planning experience on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects Good knowledge of construction methods and sequencing Experience managing programme risk, change and recovery Sound commercial and contractual understanding Confident working with clients, project teams and supply-chain partners Relevant degree or HND desirable Professional membership of RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or CIBSE advantageous . Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Modular Site Manager to oversee the safe, efficient and successful delivery of modular construction projects from site mobilisation through to completion and handover. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating site activities, subcontractors, suppliers and installation teams, while ensuring that works are delivered to programme, budget, quality and health and safety requirements. Due to the nature of the projects, the successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day site operations for modular construction and installation projects. Coordinate modular unit deliveries, lifting operations, installation and assembly activities. Supervise subcontractors, specialist contractors and site operatives. Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements. Plan and coordinate site logistics, access, deliveries, storage and lifting activities. Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and site security. Ensure RAMS, permits and other site documentation are in place and followed. Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, progress updates and handover documentation. Support commissioning, snagging, completion and final handover. Essential Requirements Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction, modular construction, off-site manufacturing or a related environment. Strong understanding of construction site management and health and safety requirements. Experience managing subcontractors and multiple site activities simultaneously. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and programmes. Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. Relevant site management qualifications, such as SMSTS . CSCS or equivalent appropriate site-management card. First Aid qualification. Willingness and eligibility to undergo BPSS clearance . Full understanding of site safety procedures and UK construction regulations. Desirable Experience delivering modular, volumetric or off-site construction projects. Experience working on government, public-sector, infrastructure or secure sites. Temporary Works Coordinator or Temporary Works Supervisor experience. Relevant construction or engineering qualification. Experience with project reporting and construction management software.
