I am currently recruiting for an experienced/qualified Plasterer Multi to join their Property Team in our Newbury & Reading region. As you'll spend a fair amount of time on the road you will be provided with a business use van and fuel card so you'll not be out of pocket. What you'll do: As a Plasterer you will carry out all forms of plastering repairs in our properties as part of our Responsive Repairs Team and elsewhere depending on demands. Applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials. Preparing corner beads, and securing them in position. Fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, coving, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings and determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers. Plumbing and straightening corners, angles, wall and ceiling surfaces as well as creating decorative textures in finishing coats. Measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings and battens. Covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, smoothing them using wet brushes and sand paper. Mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement and render to structures using trowels, and levelling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness. What you'll need: You should have experience within a similar role, ideally from within a Residential/Housing sector and must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 2 OR have a minimum of 5 years proven track record working as a plasterer. Have a strong health and safety mindset with knowledge of health & safety best practices. Enjoy working as part of a team This is a full time role, working 40 Hours per week. Due to the requirement to travel, you must hold a full and current driving licence with a minimum of 1 years experience and have the ability to drive and take home a company van. Key Responsibilities Carry out responsive and planned plastering repairs in social housing properties. Complete patch plastering, skimming, rendering and boarding. Carry out repairs to walls and ceilings, including making good following leaks and other trades. Prepare surfaces and ensure a high-quality, durable finish. Complete remedial and refurbishment works in void properties. Identify additional repairs and report any follow-on works required. Work safely and comply with all relevant health and safety procedures. Maintain a clean and tidy working environment within residents' homes. Complete job sheets and update works accurately using a PDA/mobile device. Work independently and as part of a wider repairs team. Provide excellent customer service to residents at all times. The successful candidate will have: Proven experience as a Plasterer, ideally within social housing or domestic property maintenance. Strong skills in patching, skimming, boarding and rendering. Experience working in occupied properties. Good communication and customer service skills. Full UK driving licence. NVQ Level 2/3 in Plastering or equivalent. Previous experience working for a housing association, local authority or social housing contractor. Multi-trade skills such as tiling, painting and decorating or minor carpentry. Experience using PDA/mobile working systems.
