Estimator / QS (Construction/Fire Protection)

Our client is looking to appoint an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor in a commercially focused hybrid role offering the opportunity to be involved cradle to grave commercially from initial pricing and tender support through to securing projects and managing applications for payment.

This role would suit either an estimator with QS exposure or a QS keen to develop stronger estimating capabilities within a supportive commercial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing cost estimates and pricing submissions

• Supporting tenders through to successful project award

• Commercial management post-award, including applications for payment

• Liaising with subcontractors and project stakeholders

• Following up on outstanding payments and resolving commercial issues

• Supporting overall commercial lifecycle of projects

Ideal candidate profile

• Minimum 5 years construction industry experience

• Strong general construction knowledge (including fire sector experience)

• Comfortable across both estimating and commercial/QS responsibilities

• Confident communicator, particularly when chasing payments or negotiating commercially

• Well-rounded industry background strong subcontractor or main contractor experience welcomed
