Graduate Designer Role Full-time, permanent position Based 5 days a week in High Wycombe Need to have experience of AutoCAD Specific duties Prepare schematic and working drawings, primarily using CAD. Visit sites to ascertain site conditions, carry out surveys and attend design meetings as required. Prepare requests for information, query sheets as required and monitor replies. Produce drawing schedules, general arrangement and working drawings. Monitor own progress against contract programme and report progress on a weekly basis. Attend project handover meetings and compile a design brief for the project. Produce fabrication information in the form of schedules, cutting lists or component drawings as required to an agreed programme. Design review - revise and re-issue commented drawings. Undertake checking responsibilities for fabrication information generated by other design personnel. Represent OCL as appropriate at any meetings as required. Select external designers, structural engineers, consultants where relevant and issue letter of Take on responsibility for a proportion of the design office workload as agreed. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Coordinator to join a major construction programme at Heathrow Airport, supporting the delivery of a new baggage handling facility. The project is currently progressing through RIBA Stage 5 (Manufacturing & Construction) and moving towards Stage 6 (Handover & Close Out).This role offers the chance to work on a high-profile infrastructure project where you will play a key role in coordinating design activities, resolving technical issues, and ensuring design deliverables are managed effectively through to project completion.The position is predominantly site-based, requiring a minimum of three days per week on site at Heathrow Airport.Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate RFIs, Technical Queries (TQs), concessions and design issues. Support the resolution of technical and design-related challenges throughout construction and handover. Coordinate liaison between clients, consultants, architects, engineers and specialist subcontractors. Review subcontractor design submissions and workshop drawings against approved design information. Coordinate design changes across civil, structural and MEP disciplines. Support Building Control approvals and technical close-out activities. Lead and support design review meetings, issue actions and track progress to completion. Coordinate the collection and management of as-built documentation and BIM deliverables. Work closely with document control teams to ensure accurate distribution of design information. Monitor and report on outstanding design actions, technical queries and project deliverables. Ensure design activities are delivered in accordance with project procedures and quality requirements. RequirementsEssential Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline. Previous experience working on large-scale multidisciplinary construction projects. Strong understanding of design management during construction and project handover phases. Experience managing RFIs, technical queries, concessions and design change processes. Proficiency using Common Data Environments (CDEs), such as Autodesk Construction Cloud. Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Knowledge of RIBA Stages of Work. Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills. Desirable Previous experience working within aviation or airport infrastructure projects. Familiarity with Heathrow Airport project processes and procedures. Exposure to BIM processes and CAD software. Postgraduate or Master's qualification in a relevant discipline. THE ROLE My client, a go ahead firm of construction consultants is now seeking a high articulate PROJECT MANAGER to join them in KENT. They are wanting to employ people with one year to five years post graduate experience in construction project management. Projects are varied and include high end residential, commercial, light industrial, sports and leisure facilities and some one off projects for refurbishment and new build. THE COMPANY My client is a firm of construction consultants providing a range of services including Project Management, Quantity Surveying etc. They have a selection of long standing clients and are extremely busy. They work on a good range of projects for building construction including new build, refurbishment, fit-out etc. Their office is in Kent. THE CANDIDATE You will be a Project Manager in the Building Construction industry. You should have a construction related Degree in Construction Project Management, Civil / Structural Engineering, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying or similar. You must have a minimum of one years post graduate experience of project management up to around five years post graduate experience of project management in the construction industry. You will need to have been working for a firm of construction consultants. You may be Chartered with the RICS or working towards becoming chartered. You should be able to help with delivery of projects, prepare Gantt charts and project execution plans. You need experience site inspects and site meetings plus attendance at meetings and minuting meetings. Some experience of administering construction contracts e.g. JCT and others. You must have excellent written and spoken English and be confident in dealing with people at all levels. You need to be highly articulate and confident. Salary will be negotiable according to your level of experience but in the region of 37000 to 60000 plus pension and other benefits and APC support will be given to become chartered. In addition my client works slightly longer hours during the week to enable staff to take Friday afternoon off.
