Location: East Midlands / Nationwide Employment Type: Full Time Carnell is looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Operative to join our Technology & Infrastructure team, supporting highway and civil engineering projects across the UK. This role involves nationwide travel, working away from home, and occasional night and weekend working. Key Responsibilities Drive and operate HGV vehicles in a safe and compliant manner. Transport plant, materials, equipment and site resources to and from project locations. Assist with on-site labouring and general operative duties when required. Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain accurate records. Load and unload materials safely. Follow site health, safety and environmental procedures. Support the delivery of highway and infrastructure projects across the UK. Essential Requirements Current HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence. Valid Driver CPC qualification. CSCS Labourer Card (minimum requirement). Experience operating HGV vehicles within construction, highways or civil engineering environments. Good understanding of vehicle safety and compliance requirements. Willingness to travel and work away from home when required. Highways or National Highways experience. Desirable HIAB qualification. HGV HIAB Driver / Installation Operative Location: Eastbourne Salary: approximately £120 per day Shift: Monday to Friday - 6:00am to 2:30pm/4:30pm, with occasional night and weekend work Job Role of the HGV HIAB Driver / Installation Operative: An opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV HIAB Driver / Installation Operative to support a six-month installation project across Eastbourne and Lewes. The HGV HIAB Driver / Installation Operative will collect street furniture and associated equipment from a local storage yard before delivering and unloading it at roadside sites. Responsibilities will include operating the lorry-mounted crane, securing loads, following lifting plans and supporting the installation team on site.
