The Role: Managing the safe movement of plant, delivery vehicles, and pedestrians on and around the site. Acting as the primary point of contact at the site entrance for all deliveries. Ensuring all drivers adhere to site speed limits and safety protocols. Communicating effectively with plant operators (Telehandlers/Crane drivers) via radio or hand signals. Maintaining a clear and safe site entrance and ensuring no mud or debris is left on public highways. Assisting with site security by checking credentials and ensuring all visitors are signed in. Requirements: Valid Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman certificate. Valid CSCS card. Previous experience on commercial or high-volume construction sites. Responsibilities Sling and signal loads safely for crane operations. Direct the safe movement of cranes, lorries, plant, and other site vehicles. Communicate clearly with crane operators, drivers, and site personnel using recognised hand signals and radio communication where required. Carry out pre-lift checks and ensure lifting accessories are suitable and in good condition. Ensure lifting operations are completed safely and in accordance with lifting plans. Monitor work areas for potential hazards and report any safety concerns immediately. Maintain compliance with all site health and safety procedures. Assist with general site safety during lifting and vehicle movements. Requirements Previous experience as a Banksman / Slinger is essential. Valid Slinger/Signaller certification (CPCS or NPORS) is preferred. Banksman / Traffic Marshal qualification is advantageous. Good understanding of lifting operations and site safety.
