Conduct thorough quality control checks on technical documentation to minimize errors and omissions before contract bidding and construction. Compliance & Contract Administration Ensure all architectural designs comply with local building regulations, planning policies, health and safety legislation, and environmental sustainability standards. Prepare and submit applications for planning permission and building regulations approval. Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and evaluate incoming contractor bids. Collaboration & Site Support Coordinate and integrate design components with structural engineers, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) consultants, and other specialist contractors. Advise the design team on material selection, construction methods, and building performance metrics (such as thermal efficiency and acoustics). Attend site meetings to review construction progress, resolve unexpected on-site technical issues, and ensure compliance with design intent.

Partnered with my client who are a Developer who are based in Cornwall and looking for a Senior Technologist/Technician to as their technical team develops further in their Architectural offering. This is a genuine route out of traditional practice and into the Developer side of the business, ideal for an experienced Technician or Technologist, or Architect ready to broaden their scope beyond pure design and into the commercial realities of a development focussed practice. Our client, a multidisciplinary architectural practice based in Taunton, is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and capable Architectural Technologist to become part of a busy practice with a diverse workload spanning Leisure, Hospitality, Retail, Residential and Care sectors. The successful Architectural Technologist will play a key role in delivering projects across all RIBA work stages, from initial feasibility studies through to detailed technical design and construction information. With a strong pipeline of projects and an immediate workload requirement, this position would suit someone who can quickly integrate into the team and make an immediate contribution. The practice predominantly uses ArchiCAD, with occasional use of AutoCAD. Experience using ArchiCAD would be highly beneficial, however candidates with strong technical ability and a willingness to learn the software will also be considered.
