Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team delivering high-quality painting and decorating contracts across a range of sectors including social housing, public sector, and commercial projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware QS who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in managing painting works, from pre-construction through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial aspects of multiple painting and decorating projects
- Preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tenders
- Monitoring project costs, value, and variations
- Producing valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
- Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance
- Ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in line with contractual obligations
- Supporting operational teams with commercial advice and reporting
- Building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Essential: Strong background in painting and decorating or refurbishment contracts
- Good knowledge of JCT/NEC forms of contract
- Commercially astute with excellent negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and financial management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools
- Full UK driving licence
