Key Responsibilities Service, inspect, and maintain mobile plant equipment Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults Attend on-site breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime Work on equipment such as excavators, loaders, dump trucks, and forklifts Complete job cards, reports, and maintenance records accurately Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations Carry out pre-start checks and routine inspections Liaise with site teams regarding repairs and equipment status Requirements Proven experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter or similar role Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems Experience with heavy mobile equipment (construction, quarrying, or industrial sectors) NVQ in Land Based Engineering or Plant Maintenance (or equivalent qualification) Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills Valid driver s licence Willingness to travel and work on-site Key Attributes Independent and self-motivated Strong attention to detail Able to work under pressure Safety-conscious with good communication skills Working Conditions Field-based role across multiple sites Overtime may be required, including call-outs and weekend work Overtime is paid at 1.5x flat rate after 52.5 hours worked per week Outdoor and industrial working environments
