The Role As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in managing planning projects, delivering strategic planning advice, and supporting clients through all stages of the planning process. Key Responsibilities Managing planning applications and appeals from inception through to determination. Providing clear, commercially focused planning advice to clients. Liaising with local authorities, consultants, and project teams throughout the planning process. Attending client meetings, stakeholder consultations, and planning committees. Supporting business development activities and identifying new opportunities. Assisting with the mentoring and development of junior planning staff. Keeping up to date with planning legislation, policy changes, and market trends. Requirements Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline. MRTPI qualified or working towards chartered status. Previous experience within a planning consultancy, developer, or local authority environment. Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy framework. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organisational and project management abilities. Commercial awareness and a proactive, client-focused approach. Desirable Experience Experience working on residential, mixed-use, commercial, or strategic land projects. Established professional network within the South West planning and development sector. Previous experience supporting or mentoring junior planners.
