Project Manager - Civils Contractor
Location: Reading University
Start Date: June 2026
Programme Duration: 23 Weeks
A leading Civils Contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a 4 million external works package at Reading University.
The project includes a full range of external and infrastructure works, including:
Drainage installation
Block paving works
Water feature construction
Car park construction and associated civils works
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the successful delivery of the project from start to completion
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams effectively
Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget
Maintain high standards of quality, health & safety, and compliance
Attend and lead progress meetings with the client and stakeholders
Monitor programme performance and provide regular progress updates
Oversee procurement, labour, and resource planning
Requirements:
Previous experience delivering civils and external works projects
Strong understanding of drainage, infrastructure, and groundworks packages
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications preferred
Ability to manage fast-paced projects and meet tight deadlines
