Start Date: 06/07/2026 Duration: 31/03/2027 Hours: 50 Hours Per Week Positions Available: 3 IR35 Status: Outside IR35 Available LTD/Umbrella Rates: First 37 Hours: 29.12/hr After 37 Hours & First 4 Hours Saturday: 30.87/hr After 4 Hours Saturday / Sunday / Bank Holidays: 33.65/hr Overview: We are currently recruiting for experienced Mechanical Fitters to support the delivery of a major energy infrastructure project. Working as part of an established site team, you will be responsible for assisting with mechanical installation activities, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with previous experience working within substations, power generation, HVDC, oil & gas, or other heavy industrial construction environments. Roles & Responsibilities: Carry out mechanical installation activities in line with project specifications. Work safely and efficiently under the direction of the Site Supervisor or Chargehand. Adhere to all site health, safety, environmental and quality procedures. Assist with lifting, positioning and installation of mechanical equipment. Complete allocated task cards and project activities within agreed timescales. Identify and communicate potential programme delays or site issues. Maintain high standards of workmanship and housekeeping. Support site teams in achieving project milestones and delivery targets. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with industry and client standards. Essential Qualifications & Experience: National Grid Persons. Slinger Signaller. Lift Supervisor. MEWP. A77 Roto / Telehandler. Previous HVDC, converter station or major energy infrastructure project experience. Apprenticeship trained Mechanical Fitter or equivalent. NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in a relevant mechanical discipline. Minimum 2 years' experience working within Electrical Transmission & Distribution, Substations or Power Generation CSCS Card or CCNSG Safety Passport. Manual Handling. Strong understanding of health, safety and quality requirements on construction projects. Personal Attributes: Positive and proactive attitude. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team. Problem-solving mindset. Strong commitment to safety and quality. Professional approach to site activities and stakeholder interactions.
