Strong communication and stakeholder management skills at essential, with the confidence to provide constructive challenge and work collaboratively with Tier 1 contractors to ensure environmental commitments are met, risks are appropriately managed and value for money is achieved. The Role Reporting to the Senior Environmental Manager, you'll work across multiple environmental disciplines, supporting engineering teams, contractors and technical specialists to ensure environmental obligations are achieved throughout construction and into operational handover. You'll also play an important role in monitoring landscape establishment and ecological mitigation, helping create one of the UK's largest environmental legacies. Key Responsibilities Provide client side environmental assurance across the Align Main Works Civils Contract Ensure compliance with Environmental Minimum Requirements and environmental legislation Review contractor environmental submissions and technical documentation Support technical assurance and project stage gate approvals Monitor environmental mitigation throughout construction Support the technical handover of major infrastructure assets Monitor landscape creation and ecological mitigation activities Challenge contractors to achieve environmental compliance and best practice Support environmental audits, reporting and performance monitoring Work collaboratively with technical specialists across multiple environmental disciplines Identify environmental risks and support practical mitigation solutions Build effective relationships with contractors, regulators and project stakeholders About You We're open to candidates from a broad range of environmental backgrounds, including generalists and specialists in ecology, acoustics, air quality, carbon, contaminated land or other disciplines, from contractor, consultant, client or statutory authority backgrounds.
