Search Consultancy have fantastic opportunities for Electricians to work with one of our valued clients in Wales. This is a temporary role with a duration of 1year Duties to include: nstalled, maintained, and repaired electrical wiring, systems, and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Read and interpreted electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Installed electrical panels, circuit breakers, switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures. Pulled, routed, and secured electrical cables through conduit, walls, ceilings, and cable trays. Installed and bent electrical conduit using hand and power tools. Connected and terminated electrical wiring according to electrical codes and specifications. Tested electrical systems using multimeters, insulation testers, and other diagnostic equipment. Diagnosed electrical faults and performed troubleshooting to restore system functionality. Replaced defective wiring, circuit breakers, outlets, switches, and other electrical components. Installed grounding and bonding systems to ensure electrical safety. Performed preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment. Ensured all work complied with local electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards. Installed and maintained fire alarm, emergency lighting, and low-voltage systems when required. Coordinated with contractors, engineers, and other trades to complete projects on schedule. Maintained accurate records of work completed, inspections, and materials used. Inspected completed installations to verify quality and compliance. Used ladders, lifts, and other access equipment safely while working at heights. Maintained tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area. Followed lockout/tagout procedures and wore appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Pay: £51,000.00 per year Job Description: About the Role We are looking for an experienced Electrical Qualifying Supervisor (QS) to join our growing electrical compliance team. This is a senior position requiring a strong technical background ininspection, testing, EICRs, remedial works, and electrical compliance, with responsibility for ensuring all electrical works are completed to the highest standards and in accordance with BS 7671 and relevant certification body requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within social housing, domestic, commercial, or compliance contracts and be confident managing engineers, auditing work, and signing off certification. Key Responsibilities Act as the company's Qualifying Supervisor and technical lead. Review, verify, and approve EICRs, Electrical Installation Certificates (EICs), and Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificates (MEIWCs). Ensure all electrical works comply with BS 7671, Building Regulations, and certification body requirements. Provide technical support and guidance to electricians, testers, and supervisors. Carry out regular site audits, inspections, and quality assurance checks. Monitor engineer performance and provide mentoring and training where required. Review observation coding and remedial recommendations for technical accuracy. Support NICEIC/NAPIT assessments and maintain compliance documentation. Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions. Liaise with clients, contract managers, and operational teams to ensure service delivery standards are achieved. Promote a strong health and safety culture across all contracts. Essential Requirements Extensive experience in electrical inspection, testing, and compliance. Previous experience as a Qualifying Supervisor, Electrical Supervisor, or Senior Testing Electrician. Strong knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations. Experience reviewing and signing off electrical certification. Proven background in EICRs and remedial works. Excellent fault-finding and technical diagnostic skills. Strong leadership and communication abilities. Full UK Driving Licence. Essential Qualifications NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent. City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent). 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. AM2 or equivalent industry qualification. Desirable Qualifications NICEIC Qualified Supervisor experience. SSSTS, SMSTS, or IOSH qualification. Experience within social housing and compliance contracts. Experience managing teams of electricians and testers. What We Offer £51,000 basic salary. Electrician / Electrical Tester Location: Cambridge Position Type: Permanent, Contract (Temporary), or Price Work Project Duration: Up to 4 years of continuous work available We are seeking experienced Electricians and Electrical Testers to carry out electrical testing and produce Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs). The contract involves working across a variety of commercial and local authority properties in Cambridge, including council buildings, offices, and car parks. Due to the nature of these occupied sites, the majority of the schedule involves out-of-office-hours work . We are initially recruiting 2 Testers for this project, with the team scale expected to increase up to 10. We are highly flexible regarding employment types and welcome applicants looking for permanent roles, standard temporary contract work, or price work arrangements.
