Job Description

Aztec Landscapes is offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join an established and growing business at a pivotal stage in its development.

As part of the company s plan to establish an in-house estimating capability, you will take ownership of building and developing this function from the ground up, setting the direction, implementing systems, and embedding best practices. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is motivated by creating something long-term and making a meaningful impact within a growing business.

You will be responsible for securing high-value hard and soft landscaping and associated civils packages, working across residential, commercial, and public sector developments. Operating as both a subcontractor and principal contractor, the business delivers projects typically ranging from £500k to £5m+, offering both variety and technical challenge.

The role offers a high degree of autonomy and flexibility, with the ability to split your time between a South Coast office, London sites, and home working.

Key Responsibilities -

• Pricing and tendering for large-scale landscaping and civils packages as both a subcontractor and principal contractor.

• Establishing and developing the estimating function, including processes, systems, and best practices.

• Managing multiple tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.

• Leading supply chain engagement, procurement, and subcontractor negotiations.

• Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.

• Supporting bid strategy and contributing to successful work-winning outcomes.

Key Requirements -

• Proven track record of pricing and winning large-scale landscaping and/or civils tenders.

• Strong commercial acumen with extensive pricing and cost planning expertise. • Experience operating as a subcontractor and ideally as a principal contractor.

• Ability to manage multiple tenders to tight deadlines.

• Strong understanding of supply chain procurement and subcontract negotiation.

• Confident communicator with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working autonomously.

• Ambition to build and develop an in-house estimating function.
