The Role We are looking for a talented and skilled Chartered senior surveyor professional to work across both the advisory and consultant side, and the more project driven parts of our business. There is likely to be a project bias with the expectation that the candidate will be responsible for a number of projects, acting either as the contract administrator or as a lead consultant / project manager. The consultant and advisory work will include core building surveying functions such as defects diagnosis, planned maintenance programming, landlord and tenant matters, reinstatement cost assessments, party wall and general advice. It is possible that a suitably qualified and experienced quantity surveyor might fit the bill, particularly where a lack of experience in non-project building surveying skills is offset by project management/cost, and contract knowledge. The projects are likely to range in value from circa £500K up to circa £10m. Typical projects include exterior renovation contracts, internal common parts and design work, private refurbishment projects and major façade remediation schemes. Knowledge and experience of the JCT suite of contracts is an absolute must. Knowledge of other contracts, such as NEC, would be helpful, and experience in a range of procurement routes and forms of contract is expected. The ability to lead a project team effectively is also a prerequisite. The candidate will be self-motivated, efficient and organised in equal measure, and an all-round high achiever. Location & Flexible Working The role is intended to have a bias towards the North West and North East and in part the Midlands. The successful candidate will operate out of our Manchester office. The role will require site inspections and meetings and so we fully anticipate a hybrid combination of in-office and remote working. Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria. • Qualifications: Degree educated with a relevant building surveying qualification. • RICS accredited qualification preferred; candidates willing to work towards RICS accreditation will be considered. • Experience: Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in building surveying with demonstrable experience across residential, commercial and refurbishment projects. • Communication: Clear, confident written and verbal communication with clients, contractors and project teams. • Personal attributes: Organised, proactive, commercially aware and able to prioritise competing demands. Senior Design Manager Remediation Projects Location: London The Opportunity An established contractor with a growing remediation and building safety division is seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to oversee a portfolio of remediation projects across London. This role will lead the design management function on multiple schemes, focusing on façade remediation, fire safety improvements, cladding replacement, compartmentation works, and wider Building Safety Act compliance projects. You will act as the key link between consultants, clients, residents, subcontractors, and project delivery teams, ensuring designs are coordinated, compliant, and delivered efficiently throughout the project lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Manager with strong remediation, regeneration, residential, or façade experience looking to take ownership of a growing portfolio of technically challenging projects. Key Responsibilities Design Leadership Lead the design process across multiple remediation and building safety projects simultaneously. Coordinate architects, façade consultants, fire engineers, structural engineers, and specialist subcontractors. Develop and monitor design programmes to ensure information is delivered in line with project milestones. Manage design risk registers and ensure risks are identified and mitigated throughout project delivery. Drive design solutions that balance compliance, buildability, cost, quality, and programme. Technical Compliance Ensure designs comply with Building Regulations, Approved Documents, and current fire safety legislation. Support compliance with the Building Safety Act and Higher-Risk Building requirements where applicable. Coordinate Gateway submissions and associated design information. Review existing building information and identify design constraints, defects, and remediation solutions. Ensure robust design reviews are undertaken throughout each project stage. Stakeholder Management Act as the primary design lead for clients, residents, consultants, and operational teams. Manage consultant performance and ensure high-quality design deliverables. Chair design coordination meetings and technical workshops. Provide clear updates on design progress, key risks, and critical decisions to senior management. Construction Support Work closely with project teams to resolve technical and design-related issues during construction. Review and manage RFIs, technical submissions, and design changes. Support procurement teams with design development and specialist contractor engagement. Ensure lessons learned are captured and implemented across the wider portfolio. Requirements Essential Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager within a main contractor, specialist contractor, developer, or consultancy environment. Experience delivering remediation, façade, fire safety, refurbishment, regeneration, or residential projects. Strong understanding of Building Regulations and design coordination processes. Experience managing multiple projects and consultant teams concurrently. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage complex technical issues and drive project outcomes. Desirable Experience of façade remediation and cladding replacement schemes. Knowledge of the Building Safety Act, PAS 9980, EWS1 processes, and higher-risk buildings. Degree qualified in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline. Job Title: QA Manager Project : High-Rise Recladding Project Location: Central Ipswich We are recruiting for an experienced QA Manager to join a major high-rise recladding project in Central Ipswich. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role on a flagship remediation scheme, ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the final stages of the project and supporting a successful handover to the client. Working closely with the Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing all quality assurance processes, coordinating inspections, overseeing project documentation, and ensuring the works are completed in line with specifications, regulations, and client expectations. Key Responsibilities Work alongside the Site Manager to drive the project through to successful completion and handover. Manage and implement the project's Quality Assurance procedures. Carry out regular quality inspections and audits across all aspects of the recladding works. Coordinate inspections with subcontractors, consultants, and the client team. Review completed works to ensure compliance with project specifications, building regulations, and quality standards. Manage snagging, de-snagging, and close-out processes. Maintain comprehensive QA records, inspection reports, and handover documentation. Ensure all O&M manuals, warranties, certification, and as-built information are completed and submitted. Monitor subcontractor quality and ensure any defects are rectified promptly. Assist with client demonstrations, witness testing, and final inspections. Support the delivery team in achieving programme milestones while maintaining exceptional quality standards. Requirements Previous experience as a QA Manager, Quality Manager, Finishing Manager, or Senior Site Manager with a strong QA focus. Experience delivering high-rise residential or fa ade/recladding projects. Strong knowledge of quality management systems and construction standards. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Experience managing handover documentation and practical completion processes.
