A highly successful and well-established fast-track fit-out contractor is seeking a motivated and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of commercial activities across fit-out projects, working closely with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and senior leadership. The successful candidate will be comfortable working autonomously while maintaining strong commercial control and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and develop them into clearly defined trade packages.
Prepare and issue subcontractor and supplier enquiries, ensuring competitive and commercially sound quotations are obtained.
Produce detailed tender and quotation comparison documents and make recommendations based on commercial value.
Place subcontractor and material orders, including key material orders following site measurement and procurement requirements.
Undertake accurate measurement of works on site and ensure valuations reflect progress and contractual requirements.
Manage commercial relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
Attend and lead meetings with suppliers, subcontractors and clients as required.
Prepare and present monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) , providing clear visibility of project performance, costs, commitments and forecasts.
Report directly to the Board of Directors on commercial performance and project financials.
Maintain effective commercial control throughout the project lifecycle, identifying risks, opportunities and potential cost implications.
Work independently with a high level of ownership while maintaining direct accountability to senior management and the Board.
Requirements
A relevant commercial qualification, such as a BSc/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline .
Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Surveyor within the fit-out construction sector.
5+ years’ experience delivering high-end leisure, retail or commercial fit-out projects .
Strong experience in BOQ analysis, procurement and the development and management of trade packages.
Demonstrable experience with subcontractor procurement, valuations, cost control and CVRs.
Commercially focused, highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Confident and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities with minimal supervision.
